Go to the options and crank the time on the Mountain storm one to 4x or whatever. Reminds me of Legend of Kyrandia, or Might and Magic 3.

That's 8-bit? Looks more like 16-bit. Like something that would have appeared on the Amiga. Also Mountain Stream looks like something from Skyrim

You can see the 8-bit 256 color pallete if you open the Options menu.

colors are 8bit, the resolution is higher than 8 bit systems though. That might be why you thought that.

Yeah, that and the fact that it's a good use of the palette, I'm guessing, so a combination of those two factors.
