You've got to keep on going.  It just gets better and better.  The second season in particular they really knock it out of the park.

I love this show.  It's cleverly written, and spectacularly paced.  It also puts me to sleep every time I watch it.  That's not a criticism of it being boring.  It's not.  It's just every time we try to watch it, I fall dead asleep.  I don't know why.

The director of the last Airbender completed the first rough draft for the script on the second film, but never got the green light from Paramount to go ahead with it. ($$ most likely)
So as of now, the last Airbender 2 is nothing more than a rumor and may or may not happen.

Of course, this was nearly two years ago now..

For a PG movie, The Last Airbender sure as hell delivered on all fronts. The way it ended was just begging for a sequel, and it's a shame Paramount hasn't given the green light to the director to deliver on a script he already wrote for it.

So yes, absolutely would I love to see a sequel to the film.

I liked the movie too, I didn't love it but I thought it was fine and I'd watch a sequel for sure, particularly if it wasn't directed by M Night.  I think with the right director, they could do a really good job - just bring back some of the life and humor to the characters.

And the second season (the "sequel") is probably my favorite of the 3.  I don't know how a live action film could pull off Toph.

Count me as well as someone who wants a sequel to the movie. But I want it to have a very short run at the theatre, so it gets released on DVD quickly...and then...I want to buy that DVD day 1 and hold a lighter to it. Why I haven't done the same for the 1st movie is beyond me - I guess I'm just getting cheap.   

I really like the animation series though.

loving the new series so far.  along with metal bending they've introduced a more sinister type in the last couple of episodes, and today's hinted at an interesting twist in who the main villain might be.

I've heard that book two may actually be out this year, which will be cool.

But seriously, this latest episode actually had *gasp* people in charge being competent and making the right decision to put away a dangerous new type of criminal? I really liked that bit of both nostalgia from the flashbacks, and that bit showing the council actually being smart, but mostly due to Sokka taking charge.

Also, interesting to note how the Avatar State is impervious to blood bending, now even more Awesome Mode.

The preview for next few episodes are interesting.

Amon turned out to be no one special, and with Aang showing up to heal Korra and show her how to heal others it makes me wonder what could be in store for the remaining 14 episodes.  everything seems to be tied up very neatly.

I watched the movie a few nights ago. I thought the movie was alright for a PG movie that was less-than its source material. I'm not a big Avatar fan so it wasn't annoying - though the acting was sometimes horrible.

I'd rather see a sequel to Golden Compass.

I was surprised as how much they wrapped up in the season finale. But they have a second season. It's clear that this first season was a test case to see if it was worth it. The kind of animation they're doing is expensive, much more so than a lot of the flash, or vectorized motion graphics, based animation you see coming out of studios these days.

So, I think they wrote the first season to be self contained so that if it ended there the story would be over. Now, they'll have to write a new threat, which will be difficult since it wouldn't have been there from the beginning as a driving force. I'm okay with Amon being who he was, I was just surprised at how quickly they revealed and dealt with that.

I really didn't like the way they handled the love triangles, too much of it, especially for what was supposed to be a very strong character. You could pretty much see where the triangle was heading. Just too predictable. Although that's not surprising considering the weird love stories in the first series.

Korra was originally intended to be 12 episodes, but an additional 14 episodes (Season 2) were added to the order while the original 12 were being produced. If the initial run was a test case, it was more for Nik execs to see what the show looked like, rather than to see how an audience would respond to it. Nik actually asked the Avatar folks to break the stories into stand-alone seasons before they started producing any of the episodes, rather than having a three-season story arc like the original show had. So wrapping up the Amon story line after 12 episodes was always in the cards. I kind of like this approach, because now there is not really any kind of built-in end point for the show. It can go on for as long as the show is making money for Nik.

I really like the characters and setting introduced in the first season, but the plots need some work. It was very frustrating to see the bending world completely unable to compete with the equalists during the course of the show.
