Ashlee Simpson on SNL - what a moron!

I'm so glad I have TIVO!  Watch all of Saturday Night Live last night and wow did it suck.

Ironically the funniest part wasn't the skits, but the music of Ashlee Simpson - now to be forever known as Milli Vanilli's sister.  

Yep, she performed her first song and it seemed normal, except for her horrendous so-called dancing.  I have never seen a woman look so moronic singing a song.  She seems to have HUGE clownfeet and maybe that's the problem.  At any rate, for her second song she gets up on stage, and they begin the music.  She's waiting... and looking at the floor, and suddenly you hear her singing!  But the microphone is 3 feet from her head.  She then looks surprised and starts doing the Budweiser horse-step.  Except the horses look good doing it... she does not.  She then clod-hops off stage not singing a single vocal while her band strums along.  Her voice fades out...

So, I was like, what just happened???  rewind, rewind, rewind...  Then at the end of the show she had the GAUL to accuse her band of screwing up.  She think we're that stupid?!  I rewind to it again, and yep... all lipsynched.

So I nominate Ashlee Simpson for moron-of-the-year award.  But so far she's in the lead for redneck horse-stepper of the year too.  It's undecided whether one person can win both awards in the same year...

If for no other reason than what happened to you is making a statement. Seeing you fuck up on such a popular TV program, which is tuned in by millions..well there really couldn't be anything more perfect. I don't think anything could ruin my day..my week now.

You've really shown just how low a pop star can go by trying to blame that mishap on your band. You LEFT them...LEFT THEM! They didn't start playing the wrong song, it's called the wrong track, it had nothing to do with your band. They weren't really playing just like you weren't really singing, and they kept going for you as you danced, shrunk, and slimed your way off stage like a coward. There's these things called real artists with these other things called real bands. When something goes wrong in a real band, example, someone starts playing the wrong song, everyone works together with timing to turn it into something else they can benefit from. When Alice In Chains was doing Unplugged, and Layne started a song from the wrong verse, he shouted an expletive, cracked a few jokes at himself and moved on with the show..a heroin addict, Ashlee. This guy is now dead... and you live. This guy had more talent than you ever would have dreamed for, and he's gone, so like...what makes you think you need to stick around? I can't think of anything. Jessica and the rest of your family would be real sad for awhile, but give em a few years and they'd get tired of living off of Nick's failing career and they'd have to get over it and push Jessica's new album, "Moving On". No big deal. That's pop, that's what you wanted to make. You didn't need to come out with music, you have nothing to say, it wasn't neccesary. THIS is neccesary. Your career and life ruined is neccesary, and hopefully other pop stars will take something out of this, but that's not reality. The Newlyweds is reality I guess. The Ashlee Simpson Show is reality. I don't get all the hate.  Do people think that if lip syncing pop artists fail that suddenly the whole music industry will turn around?  That suddenly being good looking won't matter as much as being able to sing?  That videos won't be more important than good lyrics?  

I also don't understand hating her.  She is a pre-packaged product created by some agent and a recording studio.  She is a teenager who saw a bunch of money dangled in front of her.  Who wouldn't take that?  

Do any of you seriously think that if they came to your house and said "we'll give you millions, you just lip sync" that you would say no?  You would say "I have to much self respect to look stupid for money"  I for one will proudly stand up and say "I am willing to look as stupid as you want ofr a million dollars"

I don't think the "hate" is from jealousy, I think it has got to do with being talented enough to not have to lip-sync when a music artist performs.

It's obvious that her band has enough talent to play live on stage, so why couldn't she stop the hobbit dancing and sing the right song?
