I've always wondered:
On forums like this one, at what point does a thread die (stop getting new replies)? Who is the last individual to post on that thread, and is their post the single reason why the thread stopped getting replies?
Is there any way we can tally how many times a member is the last poster on a thread before it doesn't ever get a response again?
It could be for any number of reasons a thread gets no more responses; the last poster has comprehensively answered the thread, the thread has been discussed out, time has simply taken its toll on the thread, or maybe the last poster has posted something uninspiring that has killed everyone's mood.
How many times have you been the last poster in a thread? And... are you the destroyer of threads?

LOL props to you friend, that's very impressive. But I'm sure there's gotta be someone out there higher than 14%. There's a lot of thread destroyers out there, even in real life. For example: Once in TheMissingLink's and my English class, we're having a class discussion about the United States political system, namely how Congress and the Senate work, and about the US Constitution. Then this girl Vera (a real life thread destroyer) raises her hand and randomly says, "Semen tastes like battery acid." The whole class is a little confused and someone finally breaks the silence, "How the hell do you know semen tastes like battery acid?" "Because I've tasted my boyfriend." "Oh... well how the hell do you know what battery acid tastes like?" "Haven't you ever put your tongue to a battery?" "...," sits collectively an 11th grade English class. I, TML, and the rest of the class, to this day, have never had an open dialogue about Congress, the Senate, or the US Constitution. Congratulations Vera, you are a true thread destroyer. |

It seems as is nearly everybody (or at least those prone to checking this thread) believe themselves to be a thread destroyer to some extent. Possibly because those threads which never got a reply or further activity stick out in our minds more than ones that died on someone else's watch.

Sometimes I think I destroy threads, but not with the last post. My post sometimes elicits 1-2 responses, and then the thread usually dies. So I'd consider myself more of a thread killing assister--I'm the former John Stockton to your Carl Maloning threads.
