Honestly, I'm okay with them blocking it. It's a pretty gratuitous and hardcore shot. If it had been a guy and a woman, I'm guessing they would've done the same thing. I don't believe this is a homophobic reaction, it's a reaction to a fairly hardcore sex scene.
Edit: in reading the first linked article, Joe Hill says that there's similar sexual content but of a heterosexual nature on the app store. If that's true, I take back what I just said.

Wish they had put some context with those pages lol. Why does the guy have a television for a head, and why is it playing porn?
Anyway, yeah, if they have a general policy against showing oral sex or intercourse I guess that's just how it goes. Unless someone finds a different issue that shows a similar scene with guy/girl or girl/girl it seems like a non-issue.

In a letter published by Kotaku, Comixology stated that it had preemptively held back publication of Saga #12 in anticipation that the issue's graphic content would be in violation of Apple's App Store rules.
"Given this, it should be clear that Apple did not reject Saga #12," Comixology's letter states. The issue will be available for purchase in the app in the near future. |
