Anyone else having problems with Gone Gold?

I certainly hope it's just a technical problem.  No matter how much people say it has changed, it's still the *best* forum I've ever been a part of.

I have to believe it's coming back (but, just in case, I better start hinting around to everyone I know that I want a console for my upcoming birthday so I don't feel out of place here. )

I'm with you on both counts.  The GG forum is a database of GG oracle knowledge that would be forever lost, even if every person in the community successfully migrated here.  I can't tell you how often I start researching a new purchase or a solution to a problem with a quick search of the friendly archieved forums of GG (I've done this even for the years I was in lurker mode and not yet a member).  And even though the content has not been recently updated, it would still be a huge loss for me to not have access to the Gold Guide, etc.  But most of all I would miss the community.   When I saw Dbt post a smiley here it hit me as hard emotionally as a tear-jerker of a movie ever could.  

I have a PS1 that I play on, but have almost always been a PC Gamer.  But just last night I was speaking to a console friend and she said she wants me to borrow hers so I can play Metroid Prime.  So it looks like I joined this forum just in time.  I'm also about to buy the mini-PS2 this fall for the joys of San Andreas (I love the PC version of VC, but alas lack the patience to wait for the next PC version to come out).   I have a feeling there is not a more capable group to answer questions for a couple of console newbs like us.

I've always fancied a Weekend At Bernie's-like situation where Rich has been dead for a long time now and individuals are just using him and his 'good name' to further their own selfish ends.

It won't even be considered.  When we opened this up we all agreed to no political or religious talk.  There are other forums (including highly partisan ones) for those discussions to take place.

This forum is also a great place to visit and has been on my daily swing through the web each day since I joined earlier this year.  I would miss GG but I'm sure glad there is a refuge over here and I  hope to see more familiar faces.

I'm not a rumor.  I actually exist.  I did call.  They did tell me the account was cancelled on the 5th.

My conjecture was that either Rich is changing hosts or GG is dead.

I hope he's changing host, but I'm beginning to doubt.  If Stephen was doing it, I'm sure he'd mention it to the mods.  I don't think Rich would do a move on his own, but what do I know?

I'd much rather be wrong and have Gone Gold back.
