Anyone else having problems with Gone Gold?

Does anyone know what I should choose for a time zone here. I'm US EDT, and have no clue what all these GMT settings are.

I was just wondering if this would be the best fit (it may well be) for the whole of the GG crowd. And letting people know that there's an option of fully compatible forum, just waiting to be made.

I sincerely hope CG doesn't bend to fit the influx of GGer's opinions on how it 'should' be.  Sure, if GG really is dead, a PC/Console division might be nice, but other than that, I'd rather the place stay like it is.

In short, don't bend the place to fit the individual, let the individual bend to fit the place.

I emailed Bill Harris, and he hasn't heard anything, either. He's got no idea why GG would be gone, since the ads were creating revenue and the place basically ran itself.

One thing he did suggest was that Rich might be joining a network as an affiliate, but I think that was a shot in the dark.

I'm another who has found their way here looking for an answer about GG.   I'm still hoping GG comes back up but this does seem like a welcoming place if we need a refuge.

Just my not-so-humble-opinion, but the folks who have been here for a while have the place all set up the way they like it, with the couch cushions broken in just right and the radio set to all the stations they like.  Why show up and talk about how it should be changed to be the way n00bs like it?  Don't be an in-law!

Well said.  I'm taking a wait and see approch to this whole thing.  I don't want to step on anyone's toes and I hope no one else who's joined today because of the GG glich (please let that be all it is) wants to either.

So far I'm looking around and getting a feel of the place and not posting much (except in this thread).  When and if I feel I can add something I'll do so, but I won't be flooding CG with threads that make me think of GG (not that I mind the newly created hot babes thread, but it does seem a little out of place with the tone of the rest of the off-topic area).

EDIT: Oops, looks like the thread w/ the babes was posted by someone with 100+ posts. :oops: I was going by rule 6 in the Sticky Rules thread and figured that sort of thread was frowned apon.  Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes (see above)

FWIW, this AM Imlawboy and I exchanged brief emails about nothing related to gonegold (music geekery, ashamed to say), but he did sign off his email by saying that he's trying to figure out what the technical problem with the site/forums are as well.  So....if GG is gone for good, it's news to peacedog and ILB as well.
