We need to evaluate some forums like R&P (it seems religion was the big offender for most people... What gave you that impression? The big offender was the partisan trench fight surrounding the presidential elections. Religion didn't play a prominent role in the pre-R&P EbG. maybe we trial run without religion? That won't work, because there is no feasible method to delineate religion from philosophy. You'll end up with a ban of quoting from the Bible while lots of philosophers will freely spread their potentially offensive world views, including religious people pretending to be non-religious. Perhaps you could ban all metaphysical discussion in general, but I fail to see why that would be necessary or enjoyable. I just want to add my thanks to the CG guys for accomodating the GG refugees. I'm a longtime lurker of the GG forums (old name - DirkG), but now I'll revert to what I use most of the time (those on the CoTN beta may have seen my posts  ) Maybe I'll start posting here a little more - who knows??? Man...what a weekend from hell. First my SBC/Yahoo DSL has been down since Friday and I just got it back now. Then no response from Gone Gold......so I journey over here. Doesn't sound too good for us GG'ers. I hate when crap like this happens and there is absolutely no warning.
Good to see that a temp/permanent home may be in place.

Well, I have to weight the amount of time the moderators will have to spend on that forum. It soaks up 10x more time to moderate than any other one as religion and politics tend to bring out the absolute worst in people at times...

Dang.
I'd like to say thanks to Knightshade Dragon and the other powers that be here for being so accommodating. Even reasonable folk might see this horde of homeless gamers camping on their yard and be a little defensive about it. Not you guys though. You guys here at Console Gold have been gracious hosts at the least.
All that said though, I don't want to relocate. I want to go back home. Gone Gold was my only source for game news, reviews and general info for a couple of years now.
If Gone Gold is gone though, and you all open up PC game forums, I'll probably have to stick around.
Here's to the future.

(1) ConsoleGold rocks. So kind to be allow us to use here as a temporary (permanent? :cry: ) home.
(2) Whatever the reason for the sudden disappearance of GoneGold will suck since it sounds like the problem has nothing to do with technical stuff.

IIRC, he was under enormous stress over something, and was going to give up the site, and then decided not to, or was talked out of it, or whatever.
