btw, have you heard of Godzilla: Final Wars? It's like a modern Destroy All Monsters. Something like 25 monsters are supposed to appear in it. Godzilla even takes down the American Godzilla. I can only imagine how satisfying watching that will be....

I actually enjoyed the Gamora (spelling?) movies released over the last 5 or 6 years. Much has changed since the day of little boys in short pants becoming best friends with giant godzilla and friends.

Yeah, I'm pretty psyched about that Final Wars! I hope that it gets some good showings here in the states.
I have heard that this is going to be the last Godzilla film from the ToHo company, although I've also heard it will be more like a 10 year hiatus. Either way we probably won't be getting much more giant monster loving for a while after this.

Another big fan here. Godzilla:DAMM is still one of my all-time favorite games, and i'd love to see a modern turn-based or RTS based on Godzilla for the PC. Favorite movie? Man, that's a tough choice! Maybe "Destroy All Monsters" or "vs. Cosmic Monster" or "vs. Smog Monster" See, I can't decide

Because of my log-in name, I feel obligated to post in any thread with Godzilla in the title, but I'm actually not a big Godzilla fan. I enjoy the movies, but that's about as far as it goes.
Having said that, I've got a friend who once said, "Most movies would benefit from an appearance of Godzilla." I'd have to agree. Think of any movie you've seen. Add Godzilla. Better movie, right?

Personally I apply that theory using Don Rickles as the subject. Think of the beauty and awe that "Interview with a Vampire starring Don Rickles as LeStat" would've inspired in audiences worldwide

All is revealed...yet spoiler-free! We hope the children who love Godzilla, the people who used to love Godzilla and the youngsters who have never seen Godzilla films at the cinema before all enjoy "Godzilla Final Wars". For Godzilla is the brightest dream and at the same time is the most horrific nightmare of the Japanese cinema.

Another bigtime fan of the Big G right here. When I heard about Final Wars I about leapt out of my chair for joy. Watching Man-In-Suit butchslap the GINO (Godzilla In Name Only) is something I'll be able to enjoy in freeze-frame for years to come on DVD.

While you're at it, seek out The Creatures' (Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie from the Banshees) excellent track "Godzilla!"
Quite a fitting tribute!
"Godzilla - He trashes cars! Godzilla - he's not from Mars!"

I'm a long time Godzilla movie fan, but only of what I consider to be the 'originals'. Those are the ones they showed during 'creature features' when I was a kid. The ones made in the later years, and the ones featuring mechanical crap, I just ignore.
My favorite is 'Destroy All Monsters' because I love watching them fight.

I saw the original one as a kid at the movie theater. Scared the crap out of me. I've always been a fan of that one. Usually I watch the monster movies anymore to see the little model cities and watch them get destroyed. Rhodan was another good one.(the original movie)

I think I have all you Big G fan-wannabes beat!
err...maybe I shouldn't be boasting about that   No way Zekester! Not only did I imagine myself Godzilla while blowing that smoke on cold winter days, but I even played Godzilla with my brother and sister. I use to put a long blanket in the back of my pants for his tail and battle my brother and sister. We used pillows and blankets to throw around imagining them as buildings and such. I can't tell you how many times I acted out every Godzilla movie I ever saw. My brother got really creative one day when he used a can of silly string and sprayed it at me while he was playing the part of Mothra. Of course, I let it wrap me up and fell to the floor only to lift my head and fire my atomic breath at that slimy caterpillar! I use to also pretend I was Godzilla coming out of the ocean when in my swimming pool. I could also do a pretty good imitation of Godzilla's trademark roar and mannerisms. Did I just admit all this? Long live Godzilla!!!!

There is no way King Kong could have one that fight. Let's debate.

I'm really psyched about Godzilla: Save the Earth. The online stuff should be a lot of fun. I went looking for a site for the game and came across this: http://www.atari.com/godzilla/godzilla-main.html Tell me what you all think about the game now. It's nice, heh?

The saddest part of the GINO movie was that a CGI Big G could have kicked ten kinds of ass, yet it utterly and completely sucked. Such a waste...

Nice, Jimmy, that site has some nice info about what has changed in the new game and some screenshots that showcase the way the terrain has changed with hills and cliffs and such. I'm getting more and more excited about this one all the time. Oh, and don't forget what comes out tomorrow! (there are also 3 and 5 DVD set releases with some different discs to celebrate the 50th anniversary)
