I've been crawling in the desert for days now with no nourishment. I've managed to find this oasis, and I see a few others have made it here safely. Hopefully, there's a transceiver in the cockpit we can find and activate. Just hope that thing in the jungle doesn't get us.

I didn't see angrycoder, freyland or dobberhd in the user list, so I sent them invitations to come on over.

Another pan-dimensional being, transplanted from Gone Gold. Hope that we will be able to save the community at least. Great to see all the familiar names. Thought I'd change mine. Was Ripstar.

I was more of a lurker than a poster on GG, still, I'm sad to see it go. But you know, I do have an Atari 5200*, so...hello, ConsoleGold!
*That counts as a console, right? Err, how about the Vectrex?

Freyland, checking in.
I owe thanks to Qbe, and a blushing apology. I have a kind email from him from 16 months ago in response to a plight with my first child, and in my duress never responded. Now, here, he thinks of me again.
Thank you Joe

Hey Qbe, glad to see you made your way over here. I tried to get the Contest back after the forums went down, but seems dev'null and matt, my only remaining competitors didn't make it over (I did email dev/null informing him of what happened, but he hadn't responded, nor appeared here yet). Too bad, the Contest was fun. How about restarting a new one coming January?

Hey Freyland, glad to see that you made it over here! Raven VII, I'd be glad to participate in a new Contest (my budget would be really, really glad if I did) but won't be the one to start it or "run" it. But after watching your participation this last year, I might as well just ask you now what game you want me to buy you for the next one

I'm here - thank god i found uhhh - dang, already forgot his name's blog.... erm - rich's? I have to rant.... Closing GG like it was closed as fast as it was closed was LOW RENT. I received press releases from Rich as far back as......jeesh, when the gonegold site was getting going... I GAVE to him free PR and he gave back to me the greatest forums EVER. I no longer work in the gaming media - but still, the forums were the first, last and always reasons why I went to gonegold.com. I knew when games were gold almost a year, usually, before Rich would let me know - but he had balls, spunk, and was a very good writer. Even if I didn't once meet a fellow powergamer or someone that worked in the industry until YEARS after the fact -- it was still my 'home' on the 'net.... For as long as I can remember... Even if I changed nicks with a year on hiatus (and the fact I can never remember logins/passwords <--- hey, I never said I was smart) I don't give a f if Rich was Ayhmad Muhammed Bruce Lee (to get all Bricktop on you) - that community was bigger than anything. To just shut it down was wicked low-rent. I feel pretty hollow over it all.... I don't respect how it went out. I paid off for the site by buying games with the affiliate program... and just to shut it down? L O W R E N T. I don't care who the owner is - Even a small heads up is proper. I would have paid a paycheck to help keep it open another month - I think a LOT of us would've. the forums were only as good as the people who visted them, and by far, moronic teenies or not (in the past year) - they were the best anywhere. At the end of the day - I feel like a large part of my 'net existence is lost. I'm sure we all do. I'm pretty pissed at how fast it shut down - no matter how/why or whatever. I feel bad if Rich is not doing well.... But ya know what? We had a life of our own - and life is better than anything else. To take that away is nothing short of low rent. I said what I had to - I hope these forums or whatever forums I end up on are 1/2 as fun.... Nothing will ever be gg... And I seriously believe the way GG ended was the most wicked closure of anything I've ever seen. I don't mean to be hurtful or spiteful - only truthful. I only hope to find something 1/2 as fun - cuz GG was more than that. It was exponentially bigger. I don't mean to get all Bob Costas -- but it was family. ungah - I don't feel any better - but I said what I NEEEEEEDED to. Those forums were the 2nd most fun thing on the net that has happened to me (besides playing DM games for a living and making a nice living from it - that HAS to be #1). +Peter aka McBa1n aka McSk1llz aka McN4$ty aka Pepito "The biggest cat in the whole wide world"

Finally found where everyone is (Even Mr. Fed). What a depressing week its been and the news of what happened doesn't make me feel any better but I'm glad Rich is okay.
Anyhoze, the way I found out what was happening was the forums on RPGDot.com. I think we former gone golders owe it to our buds to try and post a link here, from some of the other sites we visit.
Now I'm sad and mad and happy.

I'm late, but I'm here. Finally realized that people have probably found a new home, so I went and did a google search and what comes up first? A thread on Avault that leads to here Wow, I would have thought W98 would have upgraded to XP by now.

Great to see you that you've finally bit the bullet and upgraded. At this rate you should be up to XP in say... 2013. Glad you made it.

I'm here. Formerly Derek D(SC) or "Stormcloud Derek" as i've become known, to differentiate me from another Derek in the game industry...so now it really feels like Gone Gold. Well not quite yet.... Try my latest RPG/Card/Adventure game, Voyager! Download the demo here: http://home.comcast.net/~stormcreations/voydemo.exe Voyager Expansion also coming soon that adds more cards and stuff! Now it truly has that Gone Gold feeling. I'm home. Sorry for the blatant self-promotion joke.

I finally found my way here. I've been trying to get onto Gone Gold for over a week, and I assumed the site had died. I kept Googling to try to find what happened, and finally found a post Bill Harris made that pointed me here. So, hi again ladies and gentlemen. I hope most of the group finds there way here.
