Does anyone have any information on this toy or experience with it?  It looks really cool with all the programmable functions, but I am wary.  I want to know if it is worth the $99 for it.

My son asked for this for Christmas and I've already read the reviews by people on Amazon (I don't put too much trust in those).

Thanks!

I saw that commercial last night.  When I saw it lift up that cup and turn it upside down, my first words to my roommate were, "Suicide robot.  Put it somewhere public, have it read a statement, and then upend a glass of water over itself.  Goodbye cruel human world..."

I saw one at the Sharper Image it's a very neat toy. I actually think it's a pretty good deal for 100 bucks. Defintaly doesn't look cheaply made or anything like that. I couldn't figure out how to get it to do almost anything but then again 100's of people had already beat the crap out of the poor thing.

Btw I also saw Macy's selling it in my area if you don't have a sharper image in the area that is.

A few weeks ago, I played with one at a Best Buy. Was really cute.

Those Robosapiens have a huge online following, I know that much. There's about a million ways to hack them, some really cool mods you can do.  I've read nothing but good stuff about them.

Actually...I was at Fry's electronic the other day and they have a couple of displays with them.  You can try them out...the robo thingy was inside a glass box...so you can see it, run it with its controller, but you can tough it smile

Do you have a Fry's nearby?

Thanks for the replies.

I'm now leaning more towards picking this up for my son.  I might even enjoy it as well.

Why didn't they have this stuff when I was 8?  My big toy at that age was the Big Jim Sky Commander!  Anyone remember that?

I saw a huge display of them (200+ boxes?) in the middle of the makeup section of Macy's about 3 weeks ago.  I remember thinking how it was such an odd place to display.  Then I figured that the women drawn in by the 'free gift with purchase   ' deal could just buy their kid a present while there.

If you belong to BJs wholesale they are around 70.00.

Might save you some money if you have a membership.

 :!:

Also looks to be a hot toy this XMAS so don't dawdle and get "while the getting is good"

Unfortunately I don't belong to any wholesale clubs.  However, I just noticed that there is a metallic blue robosapien available.  Might just have to get that one for my son (and me). smile

Saw one the other day set up. In a Future Shop.
Some kids had been playing with it.

Its head was a little crooked so I twisted it straight. Big mistake. The thing went into convulsions, spastic lunges, backward flips, shaking violently and gyrating in a style that reminds you of the first time you spent too long with CaptainMorgan and ended up talking to Ralph on the great white phone.

Best leave it alone.
