So there's a new(ish) song that's been getting really popular lately called "Cinderella" sung by Steven Curtis Chapman.

She spins and she sways to whatever song plays,
Without a care in the world.

Yeah well the world sucks because the writer / singer of this song lost his 5 year old daughter in a tragic car accident tonight

That is so sad.  I have his latest cd, and that song should be on ever father's playlist.  It will be on mine whenever we have kids.

The chapmans have adopted three children, and promote adoption throughout his concerts. 

My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

yeah me too - I bought the CD after only hearing a sample of that song.

Just the random thought of that song alone has caused me to take extra time out of my day to do special things with my daughter than I normally would.

This news really knocked the wind out of my sails tonight. I went and laid in bed with my daughter for an hour after hearing it.

SCC is one of my only heroes in this world.

My wife and I got to meet him during his last tour. We also met Mary Beth, both his sons and saw his two other daughters on stage during the show.

Our hearts are absolutely breaking.

SCC wrote this song for friends of the family who had lost their child. It's call With Hope.

What a terrible tragedy. My thoughts and well-wishes go to the Chapman family.

On a somber related note, I saw on one of the news shows some months ago that there's increasing lobbying of the SUV car companies to set up some sort of rear-view monitor or safety device to prevent such tragic accidents. Sadly, such changes are too late for this family, but to prevent more tragedies, I hope the car companies listen.

Wow, that's awful.  My heart definitely goes out to them.

We just had a person on our team whose sister's 2-year-old was killed in a similar situation.  A neighbor pulled into the driveway to drop something off, the kids were playing hide and seek in the front yard, and one of them had laid down behind the SUV to hide.  There was no way the neighbor could see her, and backed over her on the way out.  Horrible situation.

My wife and I have been long time fans of SCC and also got to meet him on his last tour.  My wife sent me the link today about the accident, and of course we feel just awful.  Lousy stuff like this happens all the time, but it feels even worse when its someone you "know".
