So through a bizarre confluence of events, I'll be traveling from Phoenix to LA for E3 alone.  Flight prices have skyrocketed because reasons, so I'm stuck driving.   I need some cool travel music.   You all know I'm a huge Rush fan, but I'm also a big fan of EDM.  DJ Hero and the sequel were awesome for me.  I'd love to get your recommendations for some tracks that I might enjoy.  I've got hours to fill, so it doesn't necessarily have to fall on those categories.   Hit me with some tunes!

Ok, sort of on the EDM side.  I'm rather fond of Uppermost, all his albums are pretty good, kind of French-Electro, a bit like Justice, who if you don't know I'd also include.

Recently I've been listening to Dance With The Dead, a bit of synthwave

If you use Spotify here's a great NeuDisco/Italodisco playlist that is constantly updated

Might try a few podcasts too. When I need to do long drives I put together a podcast playlist. It definitely helps pass the time as you get engrossed in the stories.

This American Life, Radiolab, The Moth and Planet Money are my go-to non gaming ones.

I have no idea what EDM is and I'm not a fan of Rush, so I think any music I suggest would probably not be for you.   icon_confused

That makes perfect sense.  Now I definitely don't have any suggestions, heh.

The band's name is Failure. They used to tour with Tool back in the day, and Ken Andrews went on to produce several albums in the early 2000s (Tenacious D, for example) and they have been making a comeback. Their best album is Fantastic Planet, from which this song was on:

Its basically the best 90's era band you've never heard. I'm gonna see 'em play next week in Houston biggrin

Podcasts are a great idea. My personal favourite is Coverville. Never gets boring as the theme is always different.

ALL fantastic suggestions.  I snagged a few of each.  I'm really digging Dance With The Dead - thanks very much for that.

I'm off to snag some podcasts.   I think I'm gonna try to find some books on tape as well...whatever the hell "tape" is.

They tend to fall more closer to the "industrial" than "EDM" side of the spectrum, but check out Frontline Assembly.  Their FLAvour of the Weak album is very dancehall-y, and is a blast to listen to.  They're my second favorite electronic band, only behind Skinny Puppy.
