Yes, I am still alive! I feel awful that I haven't posted here at GT for ages, please know that - and, unlike the lame bf/gf breakup line - it definitely WAS me and not you, lol! I did what I thought (and had vowed) I'd never do again: form a Guild and be Guild Leader. Apparently my poor memory failed me once again from remembering how much of a pain, and how time consuming Guild Leadership is. Every morning I used to wake up, check my email, head to GT, and revisit throughout the day. Now I play FW until 4 or 5 in the morning, wake up, check email, and race off to see what new emergency has arisen in dear old VSQReserve Guild. Partly my absence has been because I never did figure out how to return my forum preferences to notify me of answers on threads by email. I will try again to correct this - and my friend Metallicorphan has offered to help me while chatting on XBox Live if I can't figure it out. My XBL Friends have seen me rarely, too - even Skyrim couldn't throw me a strong enough rope to keep me out of the MMO Quicksand Pool of Addiction. When "I" am playing XBox or Kinect, it is a friend or neighbor in actuality. I will go back to Skyrim someday and have promised to duo Borderlands 2 with Metal - and I know he'll ensure that happens! Of course, I blame my absence on Purge, because he helped me figure out my first MMO, FFXI (which I only played for about 3 years, lol.) I hope I haven't been gone long enough for people to say "Purge WHO?"

I've long felt that leading a guild should be something that you should be allowed to list on a resume. The management skills necessary (and time and effort) often far exceed those exhibited by actual managers, directors and VPs I come across in corporateland.

doubt we will need XBL.. when you are making a post in this thread, underneath the comment box where you type is 'Additional Options'..click on that and then click on 'Notify me of replies'..i guess that should work and Welcome back!!(I've just started Skyrim again)

OMG lol, I didn't include the name of the game! I wrote the same thing in the ""FW" MMO thread, the first few paragraphs of that I pasted here, the apology part. And yeah, I left the FW instead of changing it to the real name - even though I proofread it on Preview. Some things just never change lmao! Thanks for the warm welcome, and the various suggestions - I think one of them was to send Purge some money and a 30 pack of beer, but u know my memory! I went through everything in Account/Profile/Option, etc., that I could find, everything looked fine, but I got no email notifications of your answers, so that's still a problem. I'll take another look and try Metal's suggestion, because, of course, I can't remember if I saw that particular box to check; yup, some things never change! In the meantime, I'll be trying to remember to check the Forums, and before I sign into the mysterious FW game.

I'm going to have to wait for the background check to come back before I can welcome you back, whoever you are. Haha, seriously, lmao! I - who played Morrowind through probably 4 or 5 times... how far I have fallen, sigh... but again, like I said - I blame Purge (hi Purge, lol!) I really enjoyed Skyrim, even when all the stuff in my house moved itself around like there were poltergeists, but I'm really a sap and kept getting dragged back in to FW. For one thing, I feel responsible for the people in my Guild, silly me! Just ask Metal - I'm not just an addict, but I'm like a terrier with a rat, and I hate to give up. I gotta say though, it really is great to be "home" again, and for that, I thank you all once more! Yes, even YOU CeeKay rofl! I'll be reading a lot while I try to pester Metal on whatever I did wrong on the email notification, but you haven't quite shed me yet, lol. Or all the LOLs and exclamation points I use, lol!

Thank you KD, it's good to be home again! PR_GMR - no actually, it's not the best MMO ever, though I'm not a good judge on that, this being only my second one I've played in my life! As always, for me, it's only partly the gameplay that holds me, it's the people. Yes, I'm just that much of a sucker, lmao. I'll likely be limited to updates on the "FW" thread and a bit of Off Topic for awhile, until Metal forces me to duo Borderlands 2 with him when the GOTY is released. That will hopefully lead me to slowly unclench the grip that FW has on me... and then (omg I'm so far behind) back to Skyrim and eventually Dragon's Dogma - and then I will really be back. I only need about 11 mores steps now!

Being responsible for a guild/people in an MMO can be extremely time consuming and somewhat rewarding. At some point in my WoW career I ran our raiding guild for awhile, but passed the torch when I realized I just wasn't going to commit the time needed.
I'll never play MMOs the way I used to, which is why I think GW2 is the perfect answer with 'casual' gameplay that still has social interaction.
