End thread.

Nope, even with her, I can't bear to watch it again.  Real Genius in a landslide.  Weird Science is probably Hughes' worst movie.

I love Weird Science...but I love Real Genius more. I have maybe re-watched Weird Science once or twice since it's original release. I've watched Real Genius more times than I count. It holds up remarkably well.

But, yeah, Real Genius is absolutely better than Weird Science.  Even with LeBrock, the only thing great about Weird Science is its theme song.  Oingo Boingo!

Didn't Hughes do "Baby's Day Out"?

Anyway, Weird Science is a solid movie, but Real Genius is a classic.

For me, Weird Science because of:

a) Kelly LeBrock

b) A young Bill Paxton as Chet, one of the more memorable douchebags on film.

Just some blame.  He was completely at the helm for Curly Sue, OTOH.

This is like Sophie's Choice, for cryin' out loud.  On the one hand, you've got Bill Paxton as Chet.  On the other, you've got Kilmer quoting Socrates with "I drank WHAT!?".

I just can't...really...just...no.

If they'd called Weird Science something like Geek Fantasy, I wouldn't be so negative about it.  Or maybe Nerd Magic.

They are both awesome and in my DVD collection.   I have seen Weird Science more if that counts for anything.

both are great movies, but i have to say that i think Real Genius is by far the better of the two...an absolute 80s classic icon_cool

so why isn't this a poll?

and one bit of advice...whatever you do, avoid any and all pictures of what Kelly Lebrock looks like now...yikes...
