The call was warranted. Not a problem there.

I had a issue with the hit on Gionta not getting anything. It was prior to the Bernier and if THAT call was made, maybe the Bernier hit never happens.

Now that doesn't excuse the shitty PK/great PP, but it's a HUGE momentum changer in a championship deciding game.

From there, the Racicot pick on the 4th goal just crushed any hope.

It was unfortunate that the officials played such a prominent role in a game of that magnitude.

I want to make it clear that the Kings may well have won anyway, and I give them all the credit in the world, but the way I feel right now is that it sours the whole experience. I feel like a Bruins fan blaming the refs... icon_wink

I'm sure you guys would feel the same way if those calls were the other way around. It was just deflating that we didn't get to see the teams actually fight it out.

Doesn't matter now, congrats Kings!

No disagreement there, that hit should have been a 2 minute penalty. I doubt it would have changed the game considering how the Devils PP sputtered on their other PPs.

I was hoping for a big comeback by the Devils and then an overtime battle, but it just didn't pan out that way. Way to go to the Kings for nabbing their first Cup and dominating the entire playoffs. Props has to be given to the Devils too, I don't think any of the early predictions included the Devils/Kings Cup final. I know it really took me by surprise seeing all the "big" teams knocked out so early on.

Now what to fill my time with?

It's baseball season!  If that's not your bag, there's the Olympics or NFL training camps open at the end of July.

Training camp is already here for my CFL football team. slywink thumbsup  I'm quite pumped about this season, as my home team went 0-5 at the start last year then finished 11-2. They then went on to win the cup and break a ton of records while their players won a heap of the hardware. It was the 1st time in our leagues' history that a team has turned around a season to that extent.

Video Highlight package some dude on the internet put together of the Kings run.  Not the greatest song ever it's set to, but still cool to watch for Walter and me.

I just got my notice from Yahoo! Sports that fantasy football is now open for registration for the upcoming season.

Good stuff Gellar.  I definitely enjoyed that.

You know it is funny.  I realize highlight reels tend to gloss over the slogging that goes on in between the highlights but can you imagine thinking  even 3 years ago that the Kings would be one of the most fun teams to watch? Well that and win the Cup. They can really turn it on.

And then there are Dustin's kids really enjoying the cup.

No, had to fly back home on Tuesday and actually start being productive after a few months of paying more attention to hockey than my actual job slywink.

Looks like they had to photoshop in some more fans.  I can tell from some of the pixels and from having seen quite a few shops in my time.
