Of course then there's Dallas and its millions of sport fans who think puck is a profane word spoken by some who can't pronounce it properly.    Roll Eyes

Of course, I root for Buffalo.

The Devils have a HORRIBLE fan base and should probably move. That's not in question. I don't have the silly desire to try and prove anything like that. I'm actually not ignorant.  icon_biggrin

Gellsy trying to convince the world that LA is a hockey town is the what's up for debate (Not really: It isn't).

Outside the 20k that pack the Staples Center nobody cares enough to flip on the TV and take a look.

Sure NHL Radio might suck, but once a month maybe a Kings fan should give them a call, or are they so sophisticated about their sport that they leave the calling to those know-nothings in Toronto and Montreal?

The Kings are such a dominant force on the LA sports scene:

Name call all you want. LA is bottom tier hockey market.

Idiot.

I don't think you guys are gonna be friends anymore.  See what the finals can do!

To be fair, I had a genuinely fantastic time at the Rock during game one.  I met a number of good, passionate, and knowledgeable Devils fans.  Sure 99% of them hated me after Kopitar destroyed Marty for the GWG, but overall they were genuinely good people.  It's not the finals rivalry that makes me laugh at Devil, it's his personal lack of intelligence that does.

Wow we dodged a real high stick there...NJ fans were pissed and rightly so.

That said, holy shit Kings are playing great...again.

Great game and congrats on winning the Cup.

That's a great team. Enjoy it.

Actually pulling for a sweep so they can take it at home.

Man the Devils can't buy a goal in this series. Great game, loved all that I could watch of it. Normally I'd say Devils are in a hole they can't dig out of, if it weren't for the fact that Marty just seems to be be getting better. I'm thinking it'll take Quick having a mediocre-bad game for the Devils to get back into it now.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Really fucking excellent OT from both sides.  Great hockey to watch.

Closest the Kings have ever been.  Of course, being a near life long Kings fan, I'm still expecting Lucy to swipe the ball away from this Charlie Brown at some point.  It still feels good though... so far.

I think the Kings have got it in the bag.  Good for them.  They've been in the league since when? '67?  It's their time.

Just finished doing a little reading on the 1967 expansion.  Damn, I had no idea that St. Louis made it to the finals their first 3 years in the league.  What are the odds these days of an expansion team doing that?

Yeah, OT in game two had me remembering McSorley's stick just a bit too much.  Great goal by Carter to put those off for a couple of days...

The expansion teams were put in their own conference. One of them had to make the finals every year.

Whaaaaat?

@DarrenDreger 'Could be an injury, but sounds like Simon Gagne will draw in for the Kings tonight. Richardson hurt?'

I am probably OK with this.  Unless we lose.  Then I'm not.

!!!!!!  Need to find out more!!
Nothing against Gagne, he is great but the biggest thing the Kings have done since the start of the playoffs is not change a thing.  And it works.  Definitely an odd turn of events- and WHAT HAPPENED?

Hmm looks like Richardson might be out but no injury?

I'll be back.

@DarrenDreger 'Don't think Richardson is hurt. Could be the Kings just thinking of adding some more offensive threat.'

The offense has been sputtering a bit and Richardson is fairly useless...  Gagne is an incredible playoff performer, but I don't really see how having him play 4th line minutes is going to be anything but a wash in the end.  PROVE ME WRONG, GAGNE.

It would be really nice to actually win a playoff by more than 1 goal  icon_lol

Not that it matters but he CAN score and a couple of PP goals would be a nice change.

Zach and Kovy just watching this series. Both been useless.

I'd hate to break up the 4th line but throw Gionta on the first line and Zach down to his spot.

I hope he's hurt and not just this bad.

It's unfortunate for Marty since he's the only one showing up but what are you going to do? These are tight games and the Kings are making all the key plays.

Fayne and Clarkson miss goals in the first game's OT.

Kovy hits the crossbar with 15 seconds left in game 2.

Kings bang away for the first goal tonight and put them behind the 8 Ball.

These teams are close and the margins are razor thin but when you look at this series 5 years from now, all you'll see is a sweep for LA and that will be all that matters.

They are making the plays and good for them.
