And now for something completely different... the AHL update, and it's a very interesting one. The teams advancing to the Western Conference final are: Toronto Marlies (Leaf's affiliate) Vs the Oklahoma City Barons (Oiler's affiliate). Meanwhile the Easter conference final will be contested by: St. John's Ice Cap's (Jet's affiliate) Vs the Norfolk Admirals (Lighting's affiliate). The interesting thing is that with both the Marlies and Ice Caps in, there's a 50/50 that the American Hockey League's Calder Cup could actually be contested by 2 Canadian teams. Go Marlies and Go Ice Caps! I just wish the Heat were 1 of those 2. The WHL Update - Edmonton Oil Kings won the League cup and secured a birth in the Memorial Cup round robin. As I've said before, the Memorial is the most prestigous pro cup at it's level in the world, so well done Oil King's. I'm not sure who their Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League opponents will be, but I'm betting the Oilies take it. [Edit] I'll just add that the WHL Chenowyth Cup final was 1 of the the best in decades. It went the 7 games distance with only 1 game decided by more than 1 goal. Can't wait to see some of those players in the NHL. Makes me very grateful that my local cable network carries the games on their community channel.

Feeling great after 1 period. Big bodies and hard work down low will hopefully end up killing the Rangers 4 d-men that they allow to play.

What did I criticize?
By all means, win the Cup however you can, but don't bitch when you get labeled.
I'd be pissed if the Rangers scored 9 goals too, it's not HOW they lost, it's THAT they lost.
There was a parade in Boston last year from the trap. Do what you need to do.

Holy crap, what a cheap play by Mike Smith and what a bad call by the refs to give Dustin Brown 2 for embellishment on the same play.

Yep that was a piss poor call - Brown clearly didn't embellish that. There's been a number of bad calls in the game, enough that it's got me switching back and forth to my PC and other channels.

Indeed. I keep expecting the Kings to pull back for a night, but they just keep pouring it on. Quick was even more incredible than Carter's hat trick. If a client gets his payment to me by Friday, a portion of it is going to tickets on Sunday. F' the price.

Pretty amazing. I think the Kings are going to blow through the Coyotes in 4 games as well and maybe even clean up in the finals. This seems to be their year. Amazing how they we're able to turn things on just at the right time. Sometimes that's all you need.

All I can say is will the League freaking well force the Rangers to at least reno their rink. Good God the pucks swimming on the craptastic ice and the bloody door fell of the penalty box. Sheesh, you'd think they were one of the poorest teams in the league or something!

Being a defeatist gets so tiring. Granted, regardless of who comes out of the East, it really looks like the Kings' year right now.

They dominate the play and get nothing to show for it, then make a mistake (penalty) and they get burned. I'm not giving the Kings anything yet either. It's all fun and games out in the women's division, but I'll reserve judgement until I see them play against one of these teams. Not saying they won't win, just want to see a game or two first. Torts, once again, making Belichick look chatty. Act getting tired.

Awesome win by the Devils, especially since they were down 2-1 and came back. Nice that they stold home ice away for 1 of the NY games. That ballarina-like back of the pad save by Marty was awesome! Although he didn't look great on that lucky-bounce goal, it was vintage Marty for most of that game.

Can we have Marty win the cup without the Devils actually winning it? Because I would NOT like to see them do that. It would be like rewarding them for practically killing the game of hockey.

Who's killing hockey? Red Wings? Bruins? Rangers? 70's Canadians?
It was 20 years ago, they did what it took to win, like all those other teams and i would love if they could again.
Funny how great pitching is adored in baseball, everyone loves a good defense in the NFL, but if you play shut down defense in the NHL it's "ruining the game".
I'd be THRILLED if I were a Rangers fan. They barely have any talent, have been dominated in 3 games, and are 2 wins from the finals.
Sorry if winning isn't important to you.

So you hate teams that attack with two forwards deep better than most other teams in the NHL??

Torts pulls his bullshit and then will bitch and say how DeBoer made Rupp run at everyone and punch Marty.
What a clown.
If the lose, he'll be an antagonistic asshole during the press conference, get all chatty tomorrow to try and work the refs for Wednesday and will repeat the whole process until someone ends their season.
...He's actually talking...I stand corrected...

And the Devils continue to totally outplay the Rangers through three straight games. Lundqvist has to stand on his head like he did in Game 3 or this is over in 6. Aggressive forechecking beats the blockey the Rangers are trying to play. The Devils have been doing this the entire playoffs.

MSG - the dilapidated building which can't afford to have a properly functioning penalty box door while they try to milk the fans for more money with their TV contract BS.

I love the poll they're running on a local sports website: who would win in a fist fight, Tortorella or Deboer? So far, 60% Deboer Vs 40% for Torts. I'd like to find something to like about the Rangers, but I just can't bring myself to have any good thoughts about a team that gave Asshat Avery a 2nd chance.
