I like Torts, but I'm sick of his bitching, whining and facial expressions every time there's a call, or non-call.
Hope the Coyotes can wipe that shit-eating grin off his face in the finals.

I am quite entertained by how the Kings are having their way with the Blues so far. Of course, the tragedy is that this series really shows how gutless the Sharks were in the prior series.

Kovalchuk is out tonight with a lower-body injury, either a groin or back injury. Either way it's bad news for Jersey - if they don't win tonight, I suspect it'll be a real grim atmosphere when I'm at the Rock on Thursday night.

Loved the Caps win. It clearly demonstrated Dale Hunter's new strategy; put a big dent in Ovechkin's ice time and he'll reward you with a game winning goal. Go figure, who'd of thought the Caps' ticket for success would come to that? Don't know what to thing about the Blues, other than good Lord that was one terrible 1st period for them and one terrific one for the Kings. I thought they'd be a much better opponent, but I'm thinking my 7 game prediction was way off.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd1nWVKTKbAHahah - 195lb vs. 240lbs. Even Penner tweeted after about the hit, asking if anyone saw the license plate of that truck that hit him? I like Penner.

Yep, I loved the Oshie hit, hated the stupid comment by the TSN play-by-play announcer who said he should be called for charging. No wonder Cherry is so pissed about the direction the games going in, he's got local pussies at the Toronto Sports Network to contend with. Luckily color guy Ray Feraro was there to set him straight.

Yeah that was a great hit. Backes had quite a few too when he went into RAWRANGRY mode. Another highlight of the game, BJ Crombeen getting 'revenge' on Dwight King for the Pietro incident by letting King punch him in the face around 10 times. http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/111531

Seems to be about the only thing the Blues did well, was hit. I expect game 3 to be nasty. And, what the hell? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=394742Guess the boys were out partying when they shouldn't have. Crazy, especially down 2-0.

Well, to be fair to them, they were down 1-0 at the time of the partying. You know, the night/morning before game 2.

Stop being irrelevant if you want more media attention. Edit: It's been a while since I've heard Bryzgalov so lauded. I anticipate bad things to come. But damn he's been pretty solid. Despite his inability to do anything with the puck outside of stop it.

Kenny: Brodeur hasn't faced a shot yet in the second period. Pierre: That's because the Flyers are controlling the play.
Yes, Pierre, that's why.
Sure, the Devils are irrelevant now, but still not 37 years removed from a championship.
Bryz has been awesome.

For Philadelphia that's a short period of time given that the Eagles haven't won a championship since 1960. While we have the Phillies, it's funny how quickly 2008 fades behind current performance. It's also funny how quickly past winners refer back to prior victories when current events leave something to be desired. Do the announcers make you need a hug?

Petesy - Let me make it perfectly clear. The Flyers are better than the Devils. A LOT better. Peter Harrold is replacing Kovalchuk on the PP. The lost in OT in game one on the road, down by one in game 2 on the road. I have no expectations of winning this series, but they are right there with them and are putting up more of a fight than I expected.
That being said, listen to Pierre, really, listen to him. It's silly.
They have no shots because they are controlling the play!?!?!?!?

I just don't want another OT. Despite the disparity the Devils are holding their own. With Qualls trying to protect a 4-2 lead over Atlanta and the Flyers tied in the 3rd I don't think I have enough alcohol in the house.

Now, now come on you guys no dissing McGuire, afterall he's had such an illustrious hockey career. Man the bounces that last empty netter took almost defied the laws of Physics. The only venue I've seen with weirder ice properties than that is the WHL Medicine Hat Tiger's rink. Is that the same Philly rink that produced the famous fog bowl? Awesome game by the Devils; man did they ever dominate and fully deserve the win.

When you lose a single game to a team that features Peter Harrold on the power play, you should immediately be removed from the league.

BTW a bit off topic but, the AHL's 2nd round opened tonight. The teams (I'm sure most here are familiar with them from EA's NHL videogame) that are still in are: Abbotsford Heat Vs Toronto Marlies Oklahoma City Barons Vs San Antonio Rampage St Johns Ice Caps Vs Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (gotta love the brevity of that name ) Norfolk Admirals Vs Connecticut Whale All 3 of the Canadian teams -Heat (Flame's affiliate), Marlies (Maple Leaf's affiliate) and Ice Caps (Jet's affiliate)- in the league have advanced to the 2nd round. Hey what can I say, its a hockey league in which Toronto doesn't suck for a change. The Norfolk Admirals are the Lightning's affiliate, Baron's the Oiler's affiliate, Whales' the Ranger's affiliate, Rampage the Panther's affiliate and the Penguins the...well you guessed it. About the closest thing to dynasties in this league are the Chicago Wolves (Canucks affiliate as of this year) and the Hershey Bears (Capitols affiliate) and they were both knocked out 1st round. On opening night the Ice Caps beat the Penguins 3-1 and absolutely awesome...the Heat beat the Marlies 3-1 at home in their own rink! Can't wait until the Heat return home for their game Saturday, cause I'll be there in the seats! Go Heat go! If people aren't too annoyed by it, I'll do a team update at the commencement of the conference final and Calder Cup final.

Just 1 last BTW - no really I mean it. Edmonton Oil Kings and Portland Winterhawks are the 2 finalist for the WHL (Ed Chynoweth) Cup. Similar to the AHL for Toronto, The WHL is a hockey league in which Edmonton doesn't suck. As much as I'd love to cheer for a Canadian team in the Oil Kings, I have many relatives in Portland who are huge fans of the Winterhawks so I'll be rootin for them. This of course means that either the Oil King or Winterhawks will be advancing to the Memorial Cup - the most prestigious cup at its level in the world. The final series starts tomorrow in Edmonton.

I don't know how this Ranger-Caps game is going to turn out, but Brian Boyles save for the Caps was the most artful piece of goaltending I've seen in some time.

Triple overtimes and beyond are hilarious to watch, simply because all the players (minus the goalies) are playing in slow motion.

It was nice seeing the Blues actually hit someone and laughing at Keenan when they showed the graphic Hits - Kings 13 Blues 27 while he says the Kings were outhitting the Blues Would rather see the Blues actually play good hockey for an entire game, because the Kings dominated the 1st period and the Blues do not have the type of offense which can overcome a 4 goal first period deficit.
