Wouldn't the white out work better if the team they are backing was also wearing white??
Back before the NHL fucked it up, the home team always wore white. The tradition came from that. Ah I didn't know that. I always wondered why the NHL was backwards that way. Although I guess the NFL wears colors at home. Ya, it used to be Home = white and Away = whatever colour from the rainbow the visiting team is. Which was one of the best parts of going to a game live in that every game you would see different bright coloured jerseys. Now it's always "Your team colour" vs. white. When I go to a Leafs game it's Blue vs White. Every time. It sucks. Apparently the change was made when 3rd jerseys became popular and most of them were non-white. Instead of making the visiting team wear white once in a while when the home team wanted to use their 3rds, they changed the whole thing up. It's a small thing, but it sucks, makes me a bit more angry than it should, and still actually confuses me once in a while when I turn on a game at random. 1998 Home team in Whites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU019HjQ3KQPoor Kings.

You stay classy, gellar. Now with video. If you can't find joy in two highly paid athletes fucking up and hurting themselves comical fashion, I feel sorry for you. Me, I find joy in just about anyone fucking up and hurting themselves in comical fashion.

So, it's come to this...

Or at least, lengthier at press conferences by about a dozen words or so.

Whoah! Man that was 1 spectacular goal by Weiss. This games heating up. If you can't find joy in two highly paid athletes fucking up and hurting themselves comical fashion, I feel sorry for you. Seriously? I enjoy that about as much as watching a race car driver crash their car. Man I suspected you're a sick sadist, now I'm sure.

But... but... the Devils and Brodeur had a lead on a Southeast Division opponent with only a few minutes left! All they have to do is Staal for time... (I'll see myself out.)

How the hell did you let *that* happen? She was 3 and, like a good Dad, I was forcing her to watch hockey. She loved the orange, and that was it. 5 Year Old Daughter is a Lightning fan. I take what I can get.

Thanks guys! Lol you're doomed. My 12 year old daughter's favorite player is still Tom Tatuzzi aka Tod Bertuzzi. And I gave up long ago on convincing her the name and her allegiance are wrong. My advice - chear silently.

A bit off topic but, just when I was feeling bummed about no local content to cheer for -what with the Vancouver Giants and Canucks out 1st round- the AHL Abbotsford Heat sweep the Milwaukee Admirals and advance to their conference semi-final. Damn, with the way they've panned out in their 1st 2 seasons, between them the Giants and Canucks I doubt there'll be many postseasons where 1 of them isn't playing into the 2nd round. I've never been to a Heat game, but a friends nabbing me a playoff ticket today. Its a good 1-1/4 hour drive to a game, but hey I'll make it. Looking forward to getting a good look at some of those young gun Flames battling it out postseason.
