If that crap for the hit on Couturier winds up being reviewed..... I am going to seriously wonder why Burns elbow to the back of Nichols head plus the charge to MacDonald's head by Galliardi which cracked MacDonald's helmet were not deemed worthy of review at all by Mr. Shanahan - who seems to be "too busy" to review head shots thanks to the Rangers-Senators antics.  As the man who is supposed to review ALL incidents, Shanahan choosing not to review blatant head shots is sending the wrong message.  Hell, even NHL Tonight said those two "hits" by Burns and Galliardi should be expecting a review.  Why aren't they???

Again - this is probably my supposed bias, but when the NHL Network is saying they should be reviewed and the official supposedly in charge of
"player safety" does nothing - it raises serious doubts and creates a bias.  How many hits to Blues players heads have been reviewed this season???  That's right.... NONE!!!!  But this is just my supposed bias even though a completely neutral network with no bias says the hits should be reviewed then are not..  Shanahan gets paid to review and protect ALL players.  He sure as (Frank!) is not doing his job right now.

Burns elbow to the back of the head of Nichols is blatant attempt to injure - but it's clearly not review worthy to the guy who the Blues traded/kicked off the team for sleeping with a teammates wife when he was a St Louis Blue.  But, of course, he has no bias whatsoever.

At least the Wings/Preds incident got reviewed.....  Roll Eyes

This game is awesome, too bad it might be the last one in the series.

My only complaint is someone hasn't rearranged Briere's face yet.

The Penguins can't even let Crosby fight his own altercations.  Dude, if he wants to throw down with Hartnell, then let him.  Adams had to resort to pulling Hartnell's hair.  Really?   icon_lol

Eh, I don't have much of a problem with that. It was a smart play by Adams honestly. I would not want my top player going against Hartnell.

Edit: I also have no idea how they haven't tossed Neal yet, just to keep the game somewhat under control.

With all of Crosby's bitch antics it's not surprising.  Must be nice to run his mouth but never have to back it up.  Granted, he has to worry about becoming a vegetable with scrambled eggs for brains.

You and every other fan, plus the announcers, can't figure that out.  The entire Adams/Hartnell situation could have been avoided completely.

the problem is Crosby grabbing Hartnell and Adams has to jump in and start beating on Hartnell because Crosby grabbed him???

But he's the NHL's golden boy.  And with his concussion issues they have to do all they can to make sure he stays safe.  An NHL league-wide initiative.

You misunderstand me.  The protection of Crosbyis league-wide.  He is the NHL's golden pony.  If he played for the Blues you might have a case, but given the current circumstances, stop your bitching or let Adams take over for you.   icon_wink

VRWC

Like I said - at least the Weber-Zetteberg incident got reviewed.  The two blatant hits to head of Blues players last night, one of which cracked MacDonald's helmet and both of which NHL Network - not me - indicated should be reviewed, are not even being reviewed.

It's not a VRWC.   It's a blatant bias by an ex-Blues player (kicked off the team/traded for not being a team player) who has not reviewed a single incident involving a hit to the head of a Blues player in the regular season or the playoffs - in spite of the number of actual hits which should have been reviewed.

Independent, neutral source saying the hits should be reviewed, but it is supposedly just my bias.   Roll Eyes

Yeah, that Bruins/Caps matchup is lighting the world on fire.

Devils scored as many goals in 2 minutes as the Bruins scored in 2 games.

Panthers get their win tonight. Last one of the season.

Nice game for the Panthers. Still feeling pretty good though since the Devils DOMINATED the 3rd.

Panthers impressed me by not taking a penalty in the third to give NJ a chance to tie it up.

Yes - But you were commenting on the watchability of the games.

NJ/FLA is like Arena Football scoring compared to the soccer games in the BOS/WAS series.

Fish flopping everywhere! This is why players dive: it often works and it's almost never penalized.

Nice hit by Brown on Sedin.

Edit: Also, these CBC announcers are awful.

Yes, the hit on Sedin was topnotch, and the CBC announcers are awful. It is because they are pro Canuck. By the way Johnny Quick looks great.

From the CNNSI article on the LA-VAN game:

After Vancouver's Ryan Kesler appeared to embellish a cross-checking penalty against Willie Mitchell in the second period, the Staples Center scoreboard showed the replay, followed by several clips of springboard divers. Kesler and a few Vancouver teammates have been accused of diving by numerous opponents

It's been nine times since 1993.  I did the research when the playoffs started.  I will have to wait until tonight if you wanted the specific details, but the #8 has advanced 5 times out of the East and 4 times out of the West.

Lol. I go away for the weekend with the idea I'll still have a few games to watch in the series, but apparently not. Looks like my prediction of 7 games is out the door as the Canucks are proving truly sucktastic in this one. I'm glad Schneider got in and performed decently. Can't believe Coach V went with Luongo in game 2 with his history - actually yes I can.  Roll Eyes I wish I'd viewed those game, but listening to them on the radio Quicks sounds like he's standing on his head.  Oh well, Canucks will soon be on the fairways as they really haven't been able to get good consistent scoring production for months.

@El-Producto I doubt very much this will cause any sort of shake-up for Gillis, becuase that would mean him dealing with his biggest problem - a mediocre coach. Call me a cynic, but I think he's content with his 2 pee cups.

Kes wasn't the only one diving out there.

The Kings were working some magic of there own.  Funny how those blinders work.

But seriously, who the fuck cares.  It's a bit tiring to hear it constantly brought up, and does it look like they are gaining any advantage?

The Kings will sweep the series, and then will move onto nobody caring about them again.  The Canucks are terrible, and don't deserve to make it past the first round, they can't put a puck in the net to save their lives.

The West is soft, and will get destroyed in the SCF.
