Awesome. Sharks just scored on their own net.

Add the Rangers to the list.

Halak is out, but I'm pretty sure he was faking it for a penalty because he didn't know it was his own man who ran into him.

Someone in NY leaves a puck on the back of Lundqvist's net.  And then play goes right there, the legit puck bounces up there, and voila!  Two pucks in play!

This game is madness.

He was so faking it  Roll Eyes , he never returned to the game while Elliott continued and pitched the shutout at the end of which the Blues proceeded to beat the crap out of the Sharks.  smile  Think Braun will think twice about elbowing MacDonald in the head again after Polak pummeled him into submission?

I keep seeing mentioned LA scoring two Short-handed goals.  So did Philly on the same day.

Caps-wise. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! smile I didn't even see it. I was at a friend's house for said Scrabble gathering, and just saw the Caps mobbing Backstrom in celebration.

Had to share these, of Backstrom getting mugged in the 3rd period after whacking at a rebound (no penalty, though if this happened to you in real life, there'd be an arrest and a lawsuit  icon_razz)

Thomas and Co. Assault Backstrom (animated .gif)

And since Caps fans despise Joe Corvo for being such a flop as a trade deadline acquisition a couple years back, this photo is our fantasy.  icon_twisted

That's because Backstrom was being a little ass coming in way after the whistle blew to take a whack at Thomas.

The Bruins being gentlemen, they never do that kind of crap at all. Give us a break. Roll Eyes Actually, the Caps need to be willing to do more of that ass-ness. That's what the pundits always proclaim them unwilling to do in the playoffs.

The Rangers-Senators game was insane. I'm suprised they didn't send some players to jail, given the kind of attacking that was going on.

Backstrom came in way late and got taken out. Don't mess with the goalie. You failed to mention Johansson wasn't even touched when he took a whack at Thomas' glove because he did it right at the whistle, which happens all the time.

Seriously? The Bruins absolutely thrive on chippy games. Washington needs to keep doing what they have been if they want to win the series: play sound defense, hope Holtby doesn't implode, and win by 1 or 2 goals. If they try to play the Bruins game (i.e. willing to more of that ass-ness) they will lose. That's what Vancover found out last year.

Man watching all these other games makes me realize how much I hate the Sharks brand of hockey. It's so awful.

Also the PHX goalie got hit 10x harder than Halak and he stayed in the game. Of course they got a penalty, so I'm sure that kissed the boo boo.

Love it. Glad that Smith wasn't able to buy the win with the major penalty that came from his flop.

Just luck of the draw sometimes - Halak has a lower-body injury, and it sure sounds like he might be out a while - same happened with Neuvirth in the regular season, just a bad fall on a hit can tear something. I'm pretty convinced Smith was embellishing, since with his concussion history team docs should have pulled him out to the quiet room if he was actually feeling anything (I think they should have anyway, but then I think that NHL players are idiots about head injuries and doctors need to have more authority there).

Looks more like he just missed stopping it with his glove.  Either way, there's obviously no love loss between teams.  Seconds after the goal every player on the ice got into it.   icon_lol

PHI/PIT series truly strain my relationship with my brother-in-law.

On a side note, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

Letang just murdered Timonen.

I used to like Crosby but he is turning into a bitch.  Knocks Giroux's glove away as he's bending over to pick it up.

NHL is getting more bushleague by the day.  I'm totally regretting picking Fleury as my goaltender in my pool.

Not surprised after the recent scuffle that Pittsburgh got the power play.  The NHL loves it some Pittsburgh Crosbys.

Bye-bye Asham.  What a dick play.

Since Pittsburgh can't play hockey they seem to have resigned themselves to trying to hurt people.  You can see it in their eyes, their body language, and their play.  Only game 3 and they seem to believe the series to be over.  I'd say they should just pack their stuff and head home, but I wouldn't want to go back to Pittsburgh, either.

It's pretty strained in general.  The Philly/Pittsburgh rivalry between us is unrelenting.  And getting it from not only him but his father, grandmother, grandfather, cousins, uncles, aunts, etc only makes this series that much more satisfying.

Was away for the weekend, so I'll recap my emotions:

Devils win: Yay!
Pens lose: Yay!
Bruins lose: Yay!
Rangers lose: Yay!

That being said, if the Flyers keep this up, we're looking at an early shutdown for the season.

Playoff hockey makes cross-country flights much more bearable.  No idea how the Preds hung on to win that game, but it was fantastic to watch.  I'm headed to Nashville on Friday and it looks like we'll be getting tickets for Game 5.  Keeping my fingers crossed it will be the series clincher.

Phil/Pit was 0-0 when I got off the plane, and was 4-2 when I got to the hotel.  W.  T.  F.??

I'm kind of surprised, but Lidstrom has been a total non-factor so far these playoffs.  The last few seasons have definitely shown that he's fallen from superhuman to elite to merely good.  I know his bone bruise is keeping him off the PK, but it's done fine without him.  It's the 5 on 5 and PP where I'd expect him to show up more.

I've always known it, but probably in part due to the Pittsburgh in-laws and hailing from Philadelphia.   ninja

Glad we aren't the only one's getting our asses handed to us.

Bryzgalov isn't exactly stealing the show with 12 goals against in 3 games.
