This one's pretty great too: See what I did there? Poking fun at my team. Just remember we know they dive, and we hate it too!

From a Canucks blog:
at one point late in the third he whacked Jarred Stoll in the family jewels with his stick after the whistle. I watched the nut-shot again and reading Stoll's reaction to Kesler's stick work, and I can say with confidence that he told Kesler "man, you're such an ass-hole." Sadly, Stoll's assessment was dead-on.

I did get a chuckle out of this: "Also, it might not have made it to TV, but at one point during a stoppage in play, Alex Burrows put a pile of ice on his stick and lifted it up for Mike Richards to snort."

1) This game is wildly entertaining, moreso than expected for a game no one cares about. 2) That was a horrific, horrific call for the high sticking double minor.

Starting to hate Crosby more than I hate my in-laws from Pittsburgh. Really wish the Flyers didn't have to be 3 down in order to start playing. Story of the season. Look for two more quick goals before Philly starts doing anything.

I'll always love the "smell my finger" move by Joe Thornton on Sedin. So awesome. Oh, and LOL at the Canucks tonight.

Yikes, talk about fire wagon hockey. I don't have any dogs in that fight, so to speak, but it was definitely exciting to watch the highlights at NHL.com. It didn't seem like anyone was playing defense on either side for two periods. Fun to watch, but I imagine the coaches are each getting big ulcers tonight.

Memo to Alex Edler:
No look drop passes in your own zone are NEVER a good idea. Especially when the forechecker is BEHIND you. LOL
As a Sharks fan, I would normally never cheer for the Kings, but in this case, I'll gladly make an exception. The Kings are totally outworking the Canucks.

Man, I was originally planning on wearing my hilariously awful Kings throwback jersey to the game on Sunday night, but I'm so impressed with how Doughty is handling himself this series that I may have to wear the black #8 instead. DECISIONS.

2) They allow their Twitter guy to post this to their official twitter page: LA Kings @LAKings To everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome.
Go Kings! While the Canucks may be the whipping team in this thread they're far from that in Canada. According to this Macleans Magazine and Angus Reid poll the Leafs hold that dubious honor by a good margin. The Canucks as Canada’s most hated team? Think again. A new Angus Reid Public Opinion poll conducted in partnership with Maclean’s has found that Toronto—not Vancouver—is the country’s most hated hockey team. It turns out Vancouver, which has worn the “hated” label since last spring’s failed Stanley Cup run, is actually one of the country’s most popular teams. Montreal, meanwhile, is the country’s favourite club. Leafs are the most hated team by 20% of those in Ontario. Anyhow good to see you back in a hockey thread here making posts again. BTW, do you still think Burkie is the great rebuilder of the Leafs? Sure the Leafs are one of the most hated teams in Canada. The only difference is that most people don't care enough about the other teams to hate them. Maybe 20% of people in Alberta hate the Leafs but there are probably 80% who love them. Whereas just because 3% of people hate the Senators do you think that means 97% love them? I don't think so-we just don't care.

Duh, I didn't realize game 2 of the Caps-Bruins series is a day game at 3 p.m. today. So I'll get to see at least a couple of hours of it.

I have nothing to say about that abortion. The only entertaining thing was listening to Bruce Boudreau expose PJ Stock for the hack that he is.
Kings sweep.
Sucks that once again, Luongo was good but Schneider will get the start just because. To be honest, I'd rather get swept out of the first round at this point. This club needs a shakeup somewhere, could start with Newell Brown and his g-d drop pass. Guess what Newell, the other teams have a thing called "video" that they review. Psssst, they know about the drop pass.

The Flyers vs. Pens game tonight was unreal!
As much trash-talking as I had to listen to while visiting the in-laws in Pittsburgh, games 1 and 2 have left me sitting with a quiet, satisfied grin on my face. I don't even need to respond in kind as I know that their mere knowledge of my existence and associated Philadelphia allegiance is more than enough. And with each game we need to give up less goals before we start actually playing.

Not surprised, and probably wouldn't make a difference anyway. Too bad though, don't like to see anyone with concussions.

I'll be honest, I just started breathing again after that 2OT win by the Caps. Thomas shouldn't have awoken the beast by punching Nicky in the face - although he got lucky enough they decided not to enforce the rule (that they never enforce anyway) that a blocker-hand punch is an automatic game misconduct. 19 still got the last laugh there! Surprised to see the Caps hanging with the Bruins so well, and shocked that Holtby's doing so well - I love the kid but I was expecting him to have a lot more growing left to do before being ready to take on a playoff series. Kid really is tough to shake.
