And apparently I was incorrect.  i was too busy marking out over the hit live to pay attention to Burrows antics after the whistle.  By the way he went down, I assumed he actually was punched in the face pretty hard.  He was not.  He just spazzed and dove to the ground trying to draw a penalty.  MY BAD, ALEXANDRE.  MY BAD.

There was also this bit of ugliness during the game, where Bitz rails Clifford's head into the glass.  Got the 5+game for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was suspended as well.  In shocking news, this time Clifford is the boardee instead of the boarder.  Who knew?

Unfortunately Clifford didn't come back to the game after the hit.  This caused a lot of line shuffling for the Kings for half the game, which is part of why Penner was on the ice rather than King on the Richards/Carter line for the GWG.

It astounds me that the Nucks are able to avoid the diving all season, and game one of the playoffs they are flopping around like fish out of water.

The officiating is just getting laughable in the NHL.  The inconsistency (both ways) is a joke.  That was a bad hit by Byron Bitz, and he got what he deserved for sure.. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a game or two.  The problem I see, is that a guy like Keith gets a 2 min. minor for his elbow on Dank?

Anyways nice game by the Kings, AV needs to stop dicking around with his lines.. especially in the playoffs.  I'm glad Luongo had a decent game.

Helm underwent successful surgery last night to repair lacerated tendons in his right forearm. He will miss the entire 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but should make a full recovery.

Seriously?  Luongo could only be blamed for the Richards 5 on 3 goal.  The other two he had ZERO shot on.  And he prevented at least 5 clear cut goals with some great saves.  That one goal aside, I don't think he could have played any better.
