11-0 Bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it! That was a rather convincing victory IMHO. I don't see us going undeafeted in the regular season though, well maybe, but doubtful.

Pats really aren't that good.
Not that it would have mattered, but the advantage that they would have had would have been in the snow and cold up here. They're going to need the weather as an equalizer if they have a chance of winning a game in the playoffs. They'll get one win then go to Indy/SD/Cinci and get smacked.
Pass defense is TERRIBLE.
Nice defensive job by the Saints too.

Didn't see the game, but am glad the Saints won. From SI: As good as the Saints were top to bottom against the Patriots, there's nowhere else to start but with quarterback Drew Brees, he of the perfect night for the team with the perfect record. Brees has never been better in his nine-year NFL career, and his 18-of-23, 371-yard, five-touchdown dissection of the Patriots defense again boosted an MVP candidacy that had lost some steam in recent weeks. Perfect QB rating too. Yowza Go Brees!

o_0 I've never seen Belichick hang out so long after a game
I know! He hung around long enough to tell Brees how awesome he is. Surprised the heck out of me. They'll get one win then go to Indy/SD/Cinci and get smacked.

Cinci's defense actually seems to be better than NO's, but their offense is so incredibly scattershot it's impossible to gauge. One week they run up the score on Chicago like they're playing a high school JV team. Three weeks later they only manage to score 16 points against Cleveland. Mind you Detroit ran up 38 points on Cleveland the week before. They have serious trouble getting their offense into any kind of rhythm this season. Yes, they swept their division, but mostly because of really good defensive play and their offense doing just barely enough to squeak by. "Just enough to squeak by" probably won't be enough against a playoff time Pats team, and it sure as hell won't get them through a game gainst Indy. I suspect the weeks with games against Minnesota and San Diego (both road games!) will really show whether Cinci is up for the playoffs this year or not. I'd be floored if they beat Minnesota.

I think the Bengals realized that the only way they could lose to the Browns would have been to turn it over. So they kept it conservative and ran the ball for over 200 yards. In my opinion the Bengals run the ball well enough to win against anybody.
That being said I envision the Bengals getting the 3rd seed in the AFC and losing to the 6th seeded Steelers in the 1st round. I hope it doesn't turn out that way, but I've got a bad feeling...

It's true that their gameplan was really conservative, but if you want to analyze their offensive problems you can go back to the weeks before at Oakland or Pittsburgh too. No touchdowns at all in the Pitt game. And their effort in Oakland was pathetic. And on the playoffs... yeah. I expect them to get knocked out in the first round. At this point it's hard to say how the seeds might go. It could be the Steelers, or at this point it could be Baltimore. Especially if the Ravens beat the Steelers in their second game later this season. Past those two teams there's any number of teams that could end up in those wildcard spots. Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, and Denver are all in position to earn a wildcard shot. Even some of the 5-6 teams have a shot at it if they can roll through the rest of the season with a series of wins. Just look at the Titans. If they can upset Indy next week and keep that streak going they could finish 10-6.

I really kind of hope that the Saints don't go perfect for the regular season as it will more than likely just mess with their heads. As long as we don't lose to any of our division rivals, I am okay with a loss or two going into the playoffs.

Unless the Bengals get real hot towards the end of the season, I expect them to lose right away too. Damn you Bengals for giving me false hope!

Who are they gonna lose to? I don't see it happening. If they sit people and lose, I feel like that's bad mojo for going into the playoffs.

Well now theres an interesting developement in the NFL. We have 2 undefeated teams in December. It is possible that New Orleans and Indianapolis could both meet up in the superbowl as undefeated teams. This would take place in Miami. How much fun would that be? A game between two undefeated teams in the home city of the last undefeated team? The best part would be knowing those arrogant bastards from the 72 dolphins would have no hope of busting out the champagne this time. ITs great to have the record and all but its always annoyed me that these guys have the lack of class to publically defame any team that gets close to that record. I would very much like to see this scenario play out.

The most ridiculous play, actually. Brees then proceeds to throw an Interception to Kareem Moore, who zig-zags around to return it...and is stripped by Robert Meacham of the Saints, who then takes it in for a TD. It looked like Shockey was touching his leg when he caught the INT, but there obviously wasn't enough visual evidence to overturn the call on the field. So...Brees throws an INT that ends up going for a TD anyways. Ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is that this was on the same drive as the Skins ended up screwing up a punt return. Earlier, Skins stuff the Saints, Saints punter shanks the punt...hits a Redskin player, Saints get the ball back, and then Brees throws an INT for a TD.

WTF happened this morning? Raiders beat the Steelers, Dolphins beat the Patriots, and the Redskins almost beat the Saints. At least Denver did the expected and crushed the Chiefs. A good follow-up to beating the Giants on Thanksgiving. Now the Browns need to beat the Chargers.

For a season that started out with lots of blowouts and talk of no parity in the NFL, things sure have changed. This season defines the "that's why they play the game" saying!

My comment is directed to most of the defensive play accross the NFL.

Well, niners are now out of the playoff hunt, but that was to be expected. Some bad calls against the niners, but ultimately it was our special teams, lack of 3rd down conversions 1/12 and crabtree pulling a Brandon Lloyd in the endzone.
