I don't take credit for finding this, I read about it in a thread on another forum I'm sure some of you may be familiar with. I didn't see anything on it here and thought some of you may like it. It's a simple game of 20 questions, and I'll be damned if this thing isn't amazing. It guessed correctly "airplane" in 18 questions and "joystick" in 17 questions. Give it a go: http://www.20q.net/Heh, "snowball" in 21. So I beat it, but only by one question.

How do you disinguish between a jet and an airplane? Aren't they technically the same thing.

Well a jet is an airplane, but an airplane wouldn't have to be a jet. Why do you ask?

It took it 29 questions to guess a fountain pen.
25 questions to guess potato chip.

I beat it! It doesn't even know what the heck I'm talking about!
It lets you try and search for what you meant if you truly beat it and my thing wasn't even in there. It only took me three tries to think of a stumper though.
I win!

I dunno how you are all stumping it! It just guessed socket wrench in 18 for me. Bah. Edit: Ok, ballpoint pen took 33. 'Nother edit: Ok, arsehole had it stumped, but "sphincter" was listed as a possibility

But since the supposed goal seems to be to stump the thing, I always chose the vaguest answer possible that was still the truth.

You know, at that point in the game there are still a million things that could have fit the description. It doesn't even begin to make sense for it to guess that at that particular point.

That's pretty neat. I think they need to work on the questions a bit though and tighten them up. Besides being some repeats there's some that are a little too vague.
Overall pretty cool though.

You win, but 20Q did guess it eventually
You were thinking of something to do with sex. Does it go in your mouth? You said No, I say Yes. Is it considered valuable? You said No, I say Yes. Contradictions Detected It does not matter if our answers disagree, as over time the game will change its answers to reflect common knowledge. If you feel that the game is in error, the only way to fix it is to play again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Similar Objects a urethra, breast milk, dreadlocks, a pinky (finger), me (as in you), a ponytail (hairstyle), a boyfriend, a braid, a mullet, a pint glass, a knee, a wooden spoon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uncommon Knowledge about an erection Is it something that you build? I say Probably. Does it make a good pet? I say Probably. Is it used in a game? I say Yes. Is it lumpy? I say Probably. Is it tapered? I say Probably. Is it originally from the Mediterranian? I say Probably. Are there many different sorts of it? I say No. Does it come in specific sizes? I say Probably. Is it delicious? I say Yes. Is it hot? I say Yes. Is it cool? I say Yes. Does it get really hot? I say Yes. Is it addictive? I say Yes. Does it come in many varieties? I say No. Could it be found in a classroom? I say No. Is it involved in movies? I say Yes.
Well it doesn't go in MY mouth.

LOL, I picked the word vagina, and got it stumped. It did ask me if this has something to do with sex, I said close, because technically a vagina is not only for sex... heh heh.
