I was suprised how many I was able to guess right from just the little snapshot on the main page.

Course I disagree with a lot of their ratings.

Before even looking at that site, I was thinking of the ending scene of 'Psycho'

Glad to see it was among the list....that creeped me out as a kid

Actually, sloth is on the list.  I know I saw it.  (Found it.  #42)  Ready for the gut punch?  Supposedly something VERY close actually happened.  I will find the AP article, but a decade and a half ago, a few organized crime members with bribes tracked down an informant.  When police cracked down on it, they foud the guy...strapped down to a bed via piano wire and expertly drilled holes in the poor guy.

I read the list last night.  Outside of the top ten, there are tons that just aren't scary.  Tarantino has NEVER been scary (the ear cutting scene wasn't even gory for that matter).  And they left off THE Elizabeth Pena scene from Jacob's Ladder.  (Spookiest moment ever - comes outta nowhere & reaaaal freaky)   I did like that they had numerous scenes from Kubrick's version of the Shining and the brilliant Poltergesit (but not the scene with the girl talking to the TV?!  That was classic scary moment!)

And a lot of people found parts of Willy Wonka disturbing.  Sadly, though I think Burton has bucketloads of talent, as years have gone by and he's still "that quirky guy" he's gone overboard with being over-the-top.
