    April 26, 2011 (Burbank, California) ─ The CW Network has given early pickups to five of its established series for next season, including an All-Star Cycle of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL and the network’s top-rated drama THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. All five shows will return in Fall 2011.

    With AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL ordered for both cycles next season, The CW’s signature reality series will kick-off the Fall with its first-ever All-Star Edition, featuring the models who became breakout characters and who had the most memorable stories from past cycles. This show is just .... wow.  They went places I didn't think they would, and I just can't see how they are going to find a way to redeem Stefan after this episode.  It makes Angel turning into Angelus seem like a joke.

Pretty good ep last night, I really like Malese Jow and hope they find a way to bring her back.  Jeremy with Bonnie just kind of creeps me out, he has much better chemistry with Malese. 

Katherine is always fun, Nina Dobrev seems to really get into the role, and she almost always does something interesting.

It was also fun to see HRG, hopefully they bring him back with something a little more interesting to do.

Funny that's exactly what a friend of mine was expecting, so I'm thinking they decided to go a different route.  I still wouldn't call it slow though.

I'm wondering if the new big bad might be the original witch/mom or something related to that plotline.  They never explained who was trying to use Vicki and the necklace is still intact.

  Mama Klaus is in de haus!  it annoyed me that it took them almost 30 minutes to show what was in the coffin after it opened.  I don't think she's going to be a bad guy though, since Bonnie and mommy's arterial spray weren't part of the cave drawings.

I'm thinking the killer hunting the council members is Matt.  seriously, what else does he have to do on the show right now besides be mopey?  I think something finally pushed him over the edge, or maybe he's possessed, but it wouldn't shock me at all to find out it's him.

Careful or you'll end up having HepC obsessing VD with a hawk eye for Jeremy now that Terra Nova is over and he needs a new character to fascinate over.

Given the latest episode, I think we can safely rule out Matt. Still think it's a supernatural character we haven't been introduced to yet.

Good twist, left more questions to be answered now. We finally find out who the mystic falls killer is.

Definitely a nice twist, and it's also nice to see Matt Davis get a stronger role in the overall plot other than being a pretty boy.  I saw an interview with him where he said he keeps trying to get them to do some Alaric/Elena romance; I have to say they do have some chemistry together.

I am still wondering where this season is headed.  The murder plot line seems like a B story at best and all the other plot lines seem a bit stagnant.

On a side note, have you noticed how this show (and certain others I can't think of at the moment) tends to revolve which "stars" are in each episode?  I wonder if there's something in the contracts to give people breaks, or is it some cost cutting measure so they pay per episode or for a less than full contract.  Aside from the "big 3" it seems like characters go on hiatus an awful lot.  I know Jeremy has been in a movie or 2, and Bonnie was in Honey 2, but it doesn't seem like those movies would consume that much time.
