the CW's newest series starts tonight as part of the Amell Cousins double feature, and IGN has put up a review of it.  they say it is decent enough, yet it lacks a good hook.

Quote
Of course, this is just the pilot and there’s plenty of time for more character development (for Stephen as well as the rest of the characters) and there are a few encouraging wrinkles in the back half of this first hour that hint at a potentially more complex show. As a pilot episode, it does its job well in setting up the world and the players quickly, but it doesn’t have a strong hook since it feels so familiar. As with any series it could go either way in the coming weeks, but there’s enough here to have me interested in watching more, and hoping things become more unpredictable.

Mark Pellegrino is once again a bad guy (maybe he'll actually survive longer this time around), and Robbie Arnell playing a character that is named Stephen.  of course I bet Rittchard is in:

Spoiler for Hiden:

Originally thought that about the Vampire Diaries, but it turned out to be one of my favorite (if not favorite) shows.

it's the CW, angst is a pre-requisite.

I'm not sure I like that everyone has the same power set, I generally prefer individuals to contribute with their own specific skills.  Still I like some of the things they are doing with the characters.  It's amazing how much the lead reminds me of Stephen Amell, even though I think they are only cousins (originally thought they were brothers?).  All the same (bad) acting quirks are there, both are good looking but in a kind of generic way, yet somehow it all works for them.  All that said:

Need more shirtless Amell!!!!   Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous

I have this one on a very short leash.  The premiere episode was not very good.  The plot was cliche and the acting seemed uninspired.  Since its on the CW it can survive with mediocre numbers but if it were on any other network, I doubt it would make it more than a few weeks.

Wow thanks CK!!!

I think it's pretty clear that shirtless Stephen wins, though Robbie is pretty damn awesome too.

no problem biggrin

finally watched the premiere, and it is your average CW show.  I did like the small hook at the end:

Spoiler for Hiden:
Stephen going to work for the company to take it down from within instead of declining the offer.

Well this one is off my dvr.  Im pretty forgiving when it comes to sci-fi and fantasy series but The Tomorrow People is just terrible.  Mark Pelligrino cant even save this steaming pile of drivel.  I know peoples tastes vary and if youre still enjoying this show, cool, but for me, I wiped it halfway through the last episode.  I just couldnt take anymore.  If you like it I hope it survives but I cant see how thats possible even with the low viewer standards of the CW.

I think I'm putting this one in the 'wait for blu ray if it gets renewed' category, if only because I have way too many shows being recorded to keep up with right now.
