so, anyone watching this to the end?  I've caught the first 2 episodes, and I found this from the second episode interesting:

Spoiler for Hiden:
there are no fires for weeks, and as soon as he starts thinking about being unfaithful with the lady with breast cancer all of a sudden they pop up.  I'm still thinking one or more of the crew are  dead, and this is their purgatory.

just think, in the last episode Tommy looks up at the wall with the plaques of the dead and sees himself and the rest of his crew, as they died during 9-11...

They certainly hinted at something like that in last weeks episode.

While I still enjoy the show, I do find the constant reminders that Tommy's Irish to be annoying.  It reminds me of the great Onion article on this type of behavior.   And while I'm sure he's a bit more than 1/16th Irish, it still smacks of affectation when they drag it into stories.

Also, the 9/11 angst 10 years on has seemed forced the last few seasons.  Time to stop making that a major topic of stories so often, imho.  Yes, it was a tragedy...but eventually it just comes across as exploitation instead of exploration.

I found Tommy and Lou's coversation about how many died during 9-11 to be pretty eerie (about 2 episodes ago), and seemed to hint at that even more.

Spoiler for Hiden:
a helluva lot less tragic than I thought it would be.  damn them for using a dream sequence for the previews.

Yeah, not a very good send off to the series.  It was like they just didn't want to put much effort into it.
