He is returning to TV.  Will it be good enough to stand on its own legs or will it rely to much on his illness?  I am Tivoing it to check it out.

that pun could be on shaky ground.  I'll check it out, but I'm expecting it to fall into the 'watch a whole season on Netflix' category as I really have too many shows on my plate right now.

I laughed out loud. At work, with earphones on.
Spoiler for at this moment in the preview/commercial/trailer:

So did anyone catch the first two episodes last night, if so does it have potential or is it just a regular sitcom with Parkinson's as the punchline?

Yeah, watched it and I doubt I'll continue watching. It was aweful, right down to the casting and the writing, which was cringe-worthy at times, which is a shame since I'd been looking forward to it so much. Right now it's probably the show I'm most disappointed with. Not a fan of the talking to the camera as I feel it doesn't really fit here. It just feels rather stale and muted. It's great that he's back and I want him to succeed but this isn't the right vehicle for him.

Hah, I have to admit that made me laugh  icon_mrgreen

Another thing is that the casting feels really random. You don't get the feeling from them that they're a family, but rather that they're bunch of people living under the same roof, and I guess maybe that's down to a lack of chemistry between all of them. For a family-based drama, that's pretty much essential, yet it's missing here. An example of that is from the second episode where he gets a crush for the "hot neighbour lady". My first thought was, "Sure, go ahead..." as I couldn't see him having any connection with his wife, played by Betsy Bright, who's technically a good actress, but I feel she was miscast here as she doesn't give off a motherly vibe, instead  feeling more like one of the kids. In fact, she constantly reminded me of the big sister on Family Ties, which I found distracting. Just feels off all over the place.

My wife and I loved both episodes, couldn't stop laughing.  They seem like a perfectly normal dysfunctional family, and to be honest I found his comments to be telling, that it wasn't that he had a crush on the neighbor, he was smitten by the fact that someone would find him attractive.

Well yeah, "Crush" I admit was the wrong word to use. It was the word his wife used in order to tease him, which is why I put "hot neighbour lady" in quotations.  Still, the rest of my comments stand.
