If Haiti had a masturbating bear then I might care, but they don't. Won't someone think about what the masturbating bear is going to do?????
Hang out at your place?

So who's going to be hosting the Tonight show in the three weeks between Conan's departure and the start of the Winter Olympics?

from what I'm reading, NBC is going to run conan repeats the entire time...ones that DON'T include him bashing them, of course.

I care about Haiti...FOR ME TO POOP ON! I feel guilty just writing that. Anyway, yeah, I think the thing that's annoying is that Leno over Conan is the triumph of mediocrity, and I think it's more a symbolic loss than anything else. Say what you will about Conan, but he at least as used his position to try and do some things comedically. I think that's why people are taking this a little hard. After the success of The Hills, Jersey Shore, Flavor of Love, and countless crappy shows that last for years and years, it seemed like the smart people had finally scored a win only to have it taken away from them as a sort of reminder as to who has the pursestrings. I mean, as a generation, who do you want to be indentified with? Snooki or Conan?

Robin Williams rocked! just like I said, Conan can't really make fun of NBC, but his guests aren't him I bet Ferrell comes out with a t-shirt that says something about NBC.

Conan's last show was great. Instead of burning the place down with nastiness, he went out with a lot of class and cowbell!
The exit interview with Steve Carell shredding Conan's NBC ID and recommending continuing education courses on data entry and appliance repair was hilarious.

While, overall, the show wasn't as funny as I would have hoped, it turned out to be more impressive.
Conan's speech was completely emotional, respectful and even inspiring. Pure class.

totally awesome ending (even if my DVR cut off before it was all said and done). I was expecting Ferrell to rip on NBC but Freebird was great too.

And thank you, Conan, for just tipping your hat to the White Stripes by having Max play a song of theirs during a break instead of having them as your finale musical guest again. Love their old stuff; their new performances are somewhat insane.

I thought he held it together pretty well during his comments, especially after devoting 20+ years of his life to NBC. I'm glad he took the high road. Was that Beck playing bass during Freebird?

That was Beck and Billy Gibbons playing guitar and Ben Harper on the lap steel. Bass player from the house band was back by Max.

Shame on me for always thinking of Billy Gibbons as one of the ZZ Top guys, and not knowing his name. It was cool to see him up there. I was trying to mentally wrangle who was playing what...they had a couple of rhythm guitars, and 2 leads trading off? It was hard to tell.

Billy G. has had a cameo role on the show Bones, so that is pretty much a big neon sign proclaiming that Conan will be doing a show on FOX in the near future.

Billy Gibbons did the main guitar solo. At the end everyone was just playing whatever they felt like so you heard a bit of everyone doing little solos. Even Conan.

I'm thinking it won't. As much as I hate it, the guy had ratings on the show. About the only hope is just that if the whole thing left a bad taste in people's mouths and so they just refuse to watch it.

If they have as good a ratings as his prime-time show did, he may end up floundering for a while. I certainly hope so. I'd like to see him fail miserably for the way the whole Conan situation was handled by both him and NBC.

I think the main Tonight Show demographic is going to be happy as shit to have him back. Their world will be made right. I would be surprised if the ratings weren't good (as much as I hope they suck). The ratings may not be up to pre departure levels, but I bet he brings back a lot of the folks that stopped watching the Tonight Show.

I'm sure he won't have an Epic Fail. I'm even sure he'll do okay (his "horrible" numbers in prime time were about the same as his "amazing" numbers in late night). Doesn't mean I can't try to jinx him.

He's actually doing pretty good right now. Much better than his Jay Leno show anyway. My Dad didn't like Conan as much, and the Jay Leno show was too early for him, so he's glad to have Jay back at his usual time.

I guess Conan just sucks. The results have just come in from Nielsen Media Research's fast nationals (preliminary ratings), and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is yet again No. 1 in its time slot.
Leno's total viewers were just slightly lower than the 5.8 million who watched Tuesday night; he had with 5.4 million viewers overall for Wednesday night's show.

Yeah, but that's because people who watch Leno stay up and watch Leno. They don't decide that they can DVR it or watch it on Hulu. They turn on their TVs and go watch Leno at 10:35/11:35, since they're older and that's what they do. That's why According to Jim was on for eight years. Conan's ratings weren't good because, by and large, people who watch Conan are younger and more tech-savvy. They choose to watch what they watch when they want to watch.

Neilsen ratings don't account for DVRed shows? You'd think they'd have it set up so as long as you watched the show at some point it would count in the ratings. I guess there would be a time limit on even that, though. When I used to watch TV, I would sometimes take weeks to watch something I had recorded.
