Watched the first episode last night. I liked it a lot. It earned its spot on the DVR for the rest of its run.

Just finished watching part 1. I learned a lot from it -- always an important factor in a documentary.
Now the DVR is recording...something. When I finished the show I noticed that Terra Nova is on. What's a DVR to do?!? We have a dual tuner, and the menu shows two episodes for both shows, so maybe it somehow figured out how to record two shows while I was watching a third.
I hope. Guess I'll find out soon enough if one of those two recordings is blank (as happens sometimes).

They're re-airing tonight's episode at 10pm. Damn, this is the first time in almost a year that I regret not having a DVR. This having to remember when something's airing thing (and then not being able to pause it) is for the birds.

My dad and I got the chance to see and hear Ken Burns last month when he came to town promoting this. We heard some insights into his process as well as a lot of golden stories of the era. The tale of the Washingtonians alone is going to knock you guys out. Also the punchline on what happened to the lady who actually enforced Prohibition is a howler.
