I enjoyed it a lot. They left a lot of questions from the end of the first season unanswered, but it looks like there will be a few additional characters and a bit more character development.

Wait, what happened to the boss assassin guy? Who got the book?
Anyone else not like the change to the theme song?
New thief girl and rich benefactor woman are nice additions to a previously all male cast, assuming they stick around for longer. Previously women on the show tended to be one or two episodes and dumped like the next bond girl. The cast additions should provide more angles for character development.

Overall, still really liking the changes now that it's a few episodes in.
Even the new theme song has grown on me.
The new cast adds a bit extra to the mix, which brings it a big closer to Burn Notice, and even that show has upped the number of cast members too.

Yeah, the fact that it wrapped it's season in February (before sweeps) is not a good sign. That poor Mark Valley. He keeps almost making it, but then fizzles out. He's got star written all over him with his good looks and sense of humor, but it keeps not happening. My wife and I first started clicking with him on Keen Eddie, which was a great show that died a too early death. As for the changes this year, mostly they've been good, if a little nonsensical when studied too closely. However, the actress playing Mrs. Puchi is so good, it's easy to overlook the fact that there is no way in hell she would ever allow her Foundation to be involved with them AND be that hands on. I wasn't a fan of the youngling, though.

Yeah, the fact that it wrapped it's season in February (before sweeps) is not a good sign. plus they've been running 2 new episodes a week a lot, which means they purposely didn't want it on during sweeps. by my count they should have had three more weeks had they not doubled up. and I missed an episode too. I felt kind of lost at the beginning of the banana spider episode and looked up the episode list and sure enough there was one I didn't recognize. of course Hulu only carries the most recent 5 episodes so the doubling up has already knocked that one off the list.

I gave up on this show about halfway through season 1. Sounds like I should give it another shot during the summer reruns when there's nothing more pressing to watch.

I really enjoyed this season, they kind of upped the fun factor a bit. I only recall twice that they aired 2 episodes in 1 week, the premiere week and a few weeks ago. I hope this show can stay around for another go, but realistically all signs show that Fox is giving up on it. Probably need to make more room for another cheap and empty reality show. Its really too bad because the show had a fantastic cast. Mark Valley is good, kinda made for the role really, Jackie Earl Haley was awesome as Guerrero. Chi Mc Bride was excellent as well. I guess it sucks being in the demographic that doesnt want 10 hours of American Idol and Dancing with the Has Beens in my weekly schedule. It seems the shows I like the most are always fighting for their lives.

It may noy have seemed like it, but January 5th had 2 episodes, January 12th had 2 episodes (which got bumped to Friday in my viewing area, not sure if it was nationwide) and they ran an episode on Monday January 31st and then another Wednesday February 2nd.

Aaaaaand... end scene (and series) When Fox attacks: Network cancels 'Human Target,' 'Chicago Code,' 'Lie to Me,' morehttp://insidetv.ew.com/2011/05/10/fox-cancels-human-target/NBC would probably kill for the overall ratings Target and Lie to Me were getting (7.6) but I guess the 18-49 segment is what all the major networks fret about and those shows weren't going anywhere in that department, apparently. Chicago Code had finally grown on me (even if it's really not comparable to Shawn Ryan's previous show, The Shield). I thought Lie to Me had reached the point of closing in on the # of episodes necessary for syndication, but I guess it really had only been on for a couple years (technically, 2 seasons and an abbreviated third, something like that) and wasn't the "House-like" hit Fox expected it to be. Fringe has somehow survived all this Fox bloodletting and is getting another season.

Damn, Loved human target, and I only watched the first episode of Chicago Code and enjoyed it. That is until I realized my DVR stopped taping them due to priority conflict. So I figured I'd wait for dvd. Was that show really not that good? I had good vibes from the 1 ep i saw.

Yeah, I mean, I've learned not to equate "good ratings" with "good show." Lots of pablum and reality schlock get good ratings, and lots of fine TV shows don't get past a first or second season cause the audience never quite embraces it. I'm convinced some of it is just corporate politics. Like if show A has "friends upstairs" at a network that believe in it, it'll keep getting renewed even if the ratings are in the toilet. But a show with marginal ratings that doesn't have that true believer somewhere up top won't get that kind of patience. And the shame is, a lot of good shows need 1, 2, even 3 seasons to really hit a groove, make its mark and start building an audience. I wonder how many would-be hits never got their chance because of impatience. But, it's a business, I know... I thought Chicago Code has an interesting "layered" design with a procedural type thing each week kind of "layered" on top of a continuing arc of the female police commissioner trying to clean up political corruption in Chicago. I think if it had been on FX, it would've been a lot grittier and on basic cable probably would've gotten more patience on its ratings. NBC had a cop show called Boomtown several years ago that had a couple Band of Brothers cast members as regulars (Donnie Wahlberg and Neal McDonough), and I really liked it but the Season 1-2 ratings never showed up and it seemed like the producers never quite managed to figure out the show's theme before cancellation. Anyway, I've blathered so far off target. I never got into Hard Target, but the show's fans have my sympathies.

Hmmm, what stinks about Chicago Code is I think they already filmed its season finale (airing next week I believe), and so it's probably set up as a cliffhanger, not a series finale. I'm still hoping maybe creator Shawn Ryan has some pull with FX and can convince them or TNT or someone to give it another chance (per Southland's second chance at TNT).

Human Target's rewrite for Season 2 with the additional new characters really played havoc with the chemistry of the show. My enjoyment went steadily downhill until by the end of the season, I wasn't sure if I was going to watch the next season. Guess I had that decision taken out of my hands.

There were strong aspects to the season 2 shift, but they did create problems for the dynamics. I liked Pucci, for example, but having her as a boss who didn't want any illegal activities but wanted them not to change what the team did, just didn't quite work. I also never liked the younger girl they brought in. Her character was like cardboard.
The bigger issue with the new characters, to me, was taking the action out of the mission. I understand the need to do that, but I think it detracted from the intense energy of the show.
I wasn't sure about next season, either, but I would have given it a chance. Too bad.
Glad about Fringe, though. That show has gotten better and better as it goes. And I guess it's actually gaining a small audience in the Friday death slot.

btw, some of the new shows... Wash. Post's snarky report... http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/tv-column/post/fox-cancels-lie-to-me-the-chicago-code-and-more/2011/05/11/AFtLxyoG_blog.html?hpid=z11Even so, word on the street is that the network has given the go ahead for:
*A new drama from JJ Abrams (“Lost,” “Fringe”) called “Alcatraz,” in which people stuck on Alcatraz in the 60’s show up now-ish
*The return of Kiefer Sutherland as a single dad whose son can see the future.
*A CIA drama starring Ethan Hawke
*That “Bones” spin-off that you saw the test episode for on “Bones” a few weeks back, in which Geoff Stults plays a guy who finds people and stuff.
*A new sitcom starring Zooey Deschanel called “The New Girl” about a teacher who moves in with three slacker guys.
*A new comedy, “I Hate My Teenage Daughter,” in which Jamie Pressley and Katie Finneran play moms who have raised mean girls. omg, I can already envision perhaps all of those shows already being canceled, and they haven't even been officially announced yet.

Man, I wish Human Target could have gotten rescued by FX or something and stayed on. It was just getting more and more fun as it went.
Same for Chicago Code. Both of them are good.
I liked Lie to Me, but it had pretty much run its course. I'll miss it, but not very much.
