it's the same slot they had Stargate in whenever a new season started in the summer, so I think it'll be safe on Sci Fi.

Besides, I think most of Sci Fi's target demo for this show is more than aware of DVRs.

I've never seen Eureka, but we've adopted it as our "new" summer show. We've had pretty good luck watching shows that we've missed the first time around- Heroes,(right after season 1 before it turned to crap), Lost, the Office, 30 Rock and Arrested Development. Hopefully Eureka keeps our good streak alive.

the season finale was interesting- it seems half the hotties are leaving, but I'm guessing Jack will be back since there's a fourth season already planned.

I did not enjoy this season. Spoiler for Hiden: There were too many 'fargo-centric' eps, and he quickly became my least favorite character. Having an inept scientist as the focal point of each ep just really undermined the show. I constantly wondered how he managed to remain employed considering how much of an idiot he was. When he was playing lackey, he was much better. He can't stand on his own as a character. It pretty much went to shit for me on the 'car' episode.
2. Too many episodes where something threatens to destroy the town. Not that I remember seasons 1, 2, or the first half of season 3 anymore, but when every week there's an event that's going to destroy either the city, or the world, eventually it's time to abandon what you're doing as a company. Additionally, baby or no baby, there's no way that Alison would sit on the sideline with her baby while the world ended from ... having a new artificial north pole.
3. No overlying story-arc. There was a 'signal' approaching town but that ended disappointingly, and an additional four or so episodes continued - only one of which even made reference to that episode.
4. Technology no one in their sane mind would use, or let someone use on them - like 'human remote controls', or 'cheaty bowling balls'.
The only saving grace was the sheriff with Tess.
Overall, I was bored by the end.

Sorry about that- I just automatically NOT look at any show/movie threads if I have not seen them assuming that there are spoilers in them.

I really didn't figure Forgotten would get picked up. I've watched several episodes and it's kind of mediocre. But yeah, Eastwick was going to be hard to sustain an ongoing series out of a pretty self-containted book/movie base.

Returns July 9th Crossover with Warehouse 13: In the episodes, which are currently filming, Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston) of Eureka's Global Dynamics is sent to Warehouse 13 to help update its aging computer system. This triggers a seemingly sentient computer virus that sends the Warehouse into lockdown and traps the team inside. The Warehouse 13 episode is entitled "13.1" and will air on Tuesday, August 3, at 9PM (ET/PT).
The Eureka episode entitled "Crossing Over," will air on Friday, August 6, at 9PM (ET/PT). Warehouse 13's Claudia Donovan (Allison Scagliotti) pays a visit to Eureka, hoping to see some amazing technological wonders. She gets more than she bargained for when seemingly random objects begin appearing around town. Working with Sheriff Carter (Colin Ferguson) and Fargo, Claudia has to help solve the mystery before the strange anomalies have deadly consequences...particularly for newcomer Dr. Grant (James Callis).

Tonight's episode, "Reprise", was pretty good. Felicia Day, NLP embedded music and the return of . It looks like they may be turning the screws earlier than I expected on Jack and Allison's saccharine sweet puppy-love phase. It's only a matter of time before they ramp up the tension between them again.

been loving the story arc for this season, but there is also sad news: EXCLUSIVE: SyFy's Eureka will be coming to an end. I've learned that the cable network is close to ordering six more episodes, which will mark the end of the sci-fi series starring Collin Ferguson and Salli Richardson-Whitfield. SyFy is currently airing Season 4.5 of Eureka, while the show is filming the 13 episodes from Season 5. I hear filming is expected to wrap as planned at the end of the month, with the cast and crew coming back in October to shoot the final six episodes. Created by Andrew Cosby and Jaime Paglia and produced by Universal Cable Prods, Eureka is set in the fictional town of Eureka, Ore., inhabited almost entirely by geniuses and scientists. The current Season 4.5 premiered last month with 2 million total viewers, 893,000 of them in the adults 18-49 category.
UPDATE: Syfy's programming chief Mark Stern issued the following statement: "Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia have brought a creative vitality to Eureka that has kept it fresh and inventive. Although we do not have a commitment beyond six episodes for the sixth season, we are hopeful that this will not be the end of the franchise." Note that the statement doesn't say "the end of the series". We will see...

So, what do people think of the new season?
Starts off pretty crazy, and gets crazier at the end. Really not sure where they're going for this last season.

And it's over!
The show had its ups and downs, but overall, a good ending, nice to see this series conclude instead of just disappearing.
I think the show lost a lot of steam due to the writer's strike, casting changes, etc, but has always been fun.
I was wondering if they were ever going to have an episode where they see themselves first driving into Eureka. It was a nagging thing, and a few times with episodes involving time travel I thought they would do it. I'm glad they managed to fit it in at the very end of the show.
Also, anyone else find Holly, pretty annoying? It's not because I hated the character, or that she was just put in as someone Fargo could end up with, but mainly because Felicia Day can't quite pull off that bubbly smart pixie introvert naturally. When she broke out as mind controlled Holly in the previous episode, you got to see a bit better and more natural acting from her where she was more confident.
*sigh* One less good scifi show to watch. Gotta pick up the series on bluray when it's released.

yeah, like I mentioned it felt like most of the last half of the season was a bit too Hollycentric.
