coming to FOX and starring David Tennant.

Quote
Tennant, who is best known for playing the tenth incarnation of Doctor Who in the Brit TV series “Doctor Who,” will portray an American detective in “Broadchurch” who is the lead investigator on a case of a shocking murder that puts a town under scrutiny.

it's a remake of a British crime drama that also had Tennant in the lead detective role.  it's planned to be a 'limited series'.

An added news bit was in the report I read: Apparently Tennant was almost a lock for Hannibal Lecter in the Hannibal show.  I'm having a hard time picturing that (the closest I can come is Barty Crouch Jr).  It would have been a good departure for him, at least.

Just finished the final episode last night.  It was a good show.  I keep seeing it listed as "Series 1" which is odd.  Maybe mo or someone overseas has more insight.  Was the British show meant to have more episodes?  Seemed pretty wrapped up at the end.

Hopefully I'll have an easier time understanding Tennant's fake American accent than his natural Scottish one.

It got some half decent reviews over here, won some awards as well i think, but TBH i never really paid that much attention to it,it was on ITV(1 of the 5 terrestrial channels we have)so i know it certainly got an audience as well(for example Broadchurch got some 7-8 million viewers,in comparison to SKY Atlantic's Game Of Thrones gets on average 550k-1 million viewers because SKY Atlantic is a Premium satellite channel

Although its GoT that everyone talks about the day after Tongue )

not really a spoiler after what we have discussed but just incase:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Apparently the last episode had a James Bond style "will return" at the end of the credits, and ITV made it official that there will be a second series

Production on series 2 starts in 2014

I have been looking at the UK shows remade for US
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_television_series_based_on_British_television_series
not that many were really successful..The Office and Steptoe and Son I think are the ones i knew had done well..but quite a few on that list i didn't know had a US remake

and yeah,i can only apologise for some of the shit we have pushed your way

Oh, I hope he doesn't put on an American accent for the remake, he sounds pretty goofy with one.
