Eventually he'll get the name right.  I'm guessing from that final contemplative scene of him looking at that arrow in the season 2 opener that he'll initially go by the street name "The Tip".

<victim>  Are you going to hurt me too?

<The Tip>  No ma'am, I'm just The Tip.   I promise not to hurt you.

I was thinking the Quiver. But then again maybe he'll go Tip then Quiver.

Since this arrived on Netflix we just started watching it, and its pretty damn fun! Lots of action, cool scenes and great actors mostly - This will surely be canceled before season 3!

damn, they hinted at it in season 1, but after this week's episode:

Spoiler for Hiden:
RA'S Al GHUL!

I was half expecting them to go with some generic new villain instead of breaking out a staple from another hero's rogue gallery.

I doubt thats going to be much more than a name drop although the Arrow will likely face minor villains and henchmen attached to that name.

I think they can actually have someone show up with that name and be safe.  the character has been established as using decoys with that name so they could have that character actually show up without actually showing up.  of course they could also have someone related to him show up, and considering the roles Summer Glau has taken on in the past it wouldn't surprise me to see her being that someone:

Spoiler for who that someone is just in case people don't guess:
Talia al Ghul

just speculation of course, she could be who she says she is.

Well that wasn't actually revealed in the show. But...
Spoiler for Hiden:
And people won't know it because they're using a different actress from the first season. I think most people already suspect it's Dinah Lance, especially since as your link points out, there's already a whole complex thing with who Black Canary is in the DC universe.

Her being trained by Ras Al Ghul probably means the league wanted to give Starling City the Gotham treatment, who better to do that with is with one of its extravagant daughters. I wonder if Ras was also the one who helped train Merlin, what with the similarities in costume to the ninja that shows up.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Yeah i thought that as well..i actually thought Merlyn had already told us he was part of LoS,perhaps i am mistaken though or i just automatically thought that

Also, the Queen Court Case could be where all the info gets dished out,and the fact that Moira doesn't want to talk about it(she said there is much more),if she spills her guts about the League of Shadows (League of Assassins?)being ultimately behind everything..then Oliver and Thea could be in danger

Or that the actress was Teryl Rothery who played Dr. Janet Fraiser on Stargate SG-1? Been bugging me, finally went and looked it up.

What the hell? This show? I don't even...

Spoiler for Hiden:
What the hell, Malcolm Merlyn is back?

What the effing hell? I know it's a comic book story, but damn.

Although, I am kind of happy he's back in the show, because his kind of madness helped drive the show. It'll be interesting how all these new factions will react to one another and how Oliver and crew will deal with them. Brother Blood isn't quite doing enough right now, and the League of Shadows are a giant threat rather than city specific.

In the comics apparently Merlyn and Oliver came to something of an understanding, but I don't know the details. I'm pretty sure Merlyn spent some time in the Lazarus Pit though, assuming he's still working for the league.

Let's hope the writers can handle this many plotlines and keep the story focused enough on Oliver and co. Things are getting way out of hand with so many villains, and heroes popping up, and there's still that Flash cameo that's supposed to happen.

If the pull this off, they should get the people behind Arrow to just do the damn Justice League movies because that's how complex it's getting.

They are definitely treading a line where they could make the show a mess of plots, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt based on what they have done so far. Its still a thousand times better than the absolute dullness that is Agents of SHIELD.

So, the latest episodes had some reveals:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Barry becomes the Flash, were they going to spin him off into his own show?

Slade is still around, and all super soldiered up. But I think we all saw that coming. Think he'll don the Deathstroke mask again? And I take it Oliver was the one to remove his eye.

Sad that Shadow is dead. They tried so hard to keep her alive, and now the entire family is dead. What a chump way to die too, but who knows, there's a lazarus pit out there somewhere.

I think it WAS his actual origin story, not just a foreshadow  nod  I think plans for the spinoff are already in motion.

This show is definitely tons of fun, definitely the way you should run a superhero TV show.  I think I mentioned it before, but the smartest thing they did with the writing is to incorporate a rich history and backstory that they can keep going back to.  Very well done.

I didn't get the impression he has any powers yet. Since it's all about a chemical spill mixed with lightning, I was thinking all that talk about how dangerous the way their stock was laid out was setting the stage for the accident that gives him the powers. I guess we'll see. And yes, I've read he is in just two episodes for the 'mid-season finale' and then is off to his own series.  icon_cool

Uhh really? The particle accelerator blows up, then crazy lightning hits him, then there's a closeup of him lying there and they show a little red light flicker effect across his face. Pretty sure that's him getting his powers.

I will say i"m still a little nervous with them introducing real superpowers into the world, since the first season was just regular action. Something I actually liked them choosing to do, but I'll hold off till I see more.

well damn, the two part mid season finale was filled with all kinds of goodness.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Slade is back!  Solomon Grundy (yep, his real name in the comics is Cyrus Gold)!  The origin of The Flash! (OK, everyone knew that was coming) Moira reaching out to Ra's! Roy getting dosed just after Oliver uses Thea's nickname 'Speedy'.  The mask!  The ghosts paralleling A Christmas Carol!

I am kind of disappointed they didn't use any arrow to the knee jokes though.

I thought they kind of alluded to that last week but maybe it was just in my head.

Also what Jumangi said - I thought that was supposed to clearly be him getting his powers.

Does anyone know what Summer Glau's role is going to be?  I mean so far they are totally wasting her, I presume she has to have some longer term purpose.

Of course. His comment was directed my way... someone still at the 'foreshadowing his origin' episode and not yet having seen the 'getting his powers' mid-season finale. Hence some of my other puzzled looks with regards to talk of Shadow and Slade and Solomon Grundy and their various appearances / fates. All caught up now, thank you very much.

As to Summer and her role as Isabel Rochev, she's hoping she gets to wear the veil and goggles.  icon_wink

Her character has been the lone disappointment for me this season. I assumed(as I bet others did) when it was announced she was of course going to be in a more action oriented role. Yet she just stands around looking pretty and berating Oliver about is CEO responsibility.
