While the show has turned out ok, Im really getting tired of every single young character being a cookie cutter angsty, my parents, especially dad are/is an asshole.  Is there a single person in the city that has any kind of good relationship with their father?  Is every mom either dead or screwed up?  Its getting to the point that Arrow should just hang out at the maternity ward and when ever a child is born he should turn to the father, say "You have failed this city!" and put an arrow or two into him.

Well, you're right.

Going to make note while writing my next game script to avoid parental issues. It's become more common lately in all media. It's actually hard to think of any media where every character isn't festooned with parental issues.

this has been the surprise of the past year for me,absolutely loving it..so has it been cancelled yet?(I wish i could insert a smiley here)

last episode for the UK last Monday(I've not clicked on your spoiler CK)
Spoiler for Hiden:
Laurel's clients were murdered and she and Tommy looked after the kid

while on the island,Oli,Crixus(can't remember his name in this) and that woman(yeah, again can't remember),were captured supposedly by the girls father(Yei Fen or something like that) leading the bad guys to where they were hiding/training/planning

Oli was practising with a bow as well("I probably hit a tree")

oh and the bad kid from Teen Wolf is probably looking to become Oliver's partner..that's what i got from his stalking/obsession anyway

I always like his adult superhero name of Arsenal better. Of course anything is better than Aqualad.

Sorry if it's been mentioned, but is there anywhere online to watch episodes?

Hulu only has the more recent episodes.

So, the lead up to season finale has definitely gotten interesting.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Figured Merlin would find out about Oliver eventually, since according to wikis they have some strange relationship.

Disappointed over the whole Tommy and Laurel thing and them flip flopping on that. Really do not want to see the stereotypical best friend becomes worst enemy, but that's probably how it will work out.

And goodbye Yao Fei, shame to lose that character. And now we have to wonder who is the mysterious woman pulling the strings on the island.

damn that was one hell of a finale.  Kudos to all those involved in taking something that could have been horribly cheesy (a la Smallville's Green Arrow) and making it a helluva show.

Spoiler for Hiden:
no happy endings here.

Pretty cool news for season 2,that i know some of you Sci-Fi fans will be happy about

Arrow Season 2 guest star-Summer Glau

Quote
Production on Arrow's highly-anticipated second season kicked off this week in Vancouver and we just got our hands on some seriously awesome casting news that will make fans even more excited for the CW breakout hit's return in October. Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Summer Glau is set to join the series in a recurring role. Go on, geek out!

Glau will take on the role of Isabel Rochev, the enigmatically beautiful and professionally dangerous Vice President of Aquisitions of Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated.

I can see her white bits!

Quote
While fans have yet to hear much about Isabel on the series (her name was briefly seen on Robert's list of people who have corrupted, or as Oliver would say "failed," Starling City), readers of the original comics are surely buzzing over her introduction in season two.
Isabel Rochev, Arrow, Embargoed

From a small village in Siberia where she worked in a diamond mine, Isabel fell in love with Robert Queen and became determined to make something of herself. After Robert's death years later, she becomes the CEO of Queen Industries, corrupts Star City and is keen on seeing Oliver dead.

Isabel believed she was the true love of Robert's life, so much so that she was known to wear his wife's wedding ring. Moira (Susanna Thompson), you better watch your company and your jewels, which may be hard to do from behind bars.
Of course, Arrow has strayed from the original DC Comics, so who knows what version of the character Glau will be tackling

They were also planning on having Green Lantern John Stewart show up in Arrow.

So, season 1 of Arrow held on to a somewhat less supernatural show, besides the super archery and doomsday weapons. However, with DC pushing for a Marvel style combined movie/tv universe, looks like they're bringing Arrow into that continuum along with other things.

I'm okay with that, but they'll need to be careful since the Arrow setting without supers is rather well done.

Metamorpho in season 2?

In the original comics, Metamorpho is a superhero with the ability to shape-shift his body into various forms, using the elements contained within the human body.

DC's Geoff Johns recently hinted that Arrow could feature more super-powers and "insane concepts" following the introduction of...
Spoiler for Hiden:
The Flash.
^^^same as Ceekay's Spoiler above

"These powers won't be treated as commonplace," confirmed exec Andrew Kreisberg. "They will be extraordinary events, so the world and characters will react accordingly."

Kreisberg and Guggenheim recently admitted that Dick Grayson - Batman's former sidekick Nightwing - remains the "Holy Grail" of DC characters for Arrow's writing team.

"We're like fanboys and it's wish fulfilment for us every time we put a new DC character on the table," the duo said.

Arrow season two premieres on October 9 on The CW in the US and will air on Sky1 in the UK.

I'm all for it, and I"m glad to hear they'll be treating these larger than life characters as such.

And they'll really have to keep these appearances special though, since Green Arrow is still a normal human. It'll be nice to see what a normal human without the weird iron will of Batman, reacts to seeing all this.

If I recall Queen is good friends with Superman, right? While Batman and Superman are buddies in costume and sometimes out, Queen and Clark if I remember are actually older friends.

I believe you are correct.  Queen and Wayne have known each other longer due to their business empires.   Also, I would give a  thumbsup to having Dick Grayson play a major role in Arrow.  Handled correctly it could be very cool.

Barry Allen cast.

Quote
The Flash has been found. The search had been on for an actor to play Barry Allen on The CW's Arrow this season, and now Grant Gustin has been cast in the role. The 23-year-old Gustin is best known for his recurring role on Glee and, based on the description of the character as a forensic scientist, is a bit of a surprising choice, given his young age.

I hear part of his cover in the potential spinoff series may be as the leader of a boy band.

Sweet!  That backstory stuff really made the show, IMHO.  Well that and shirtless Stephen Amell.  BTW his younger brother will apparently also be shirtless a lot in Tomorrow People, can't wait!  As for Flash, meh.  Hated him on Glee, disappointing as Flash but I guess he deserves a chance.

you had to figure the island would be back.  they've got 5 years of him being stuck there to fill in, so it wouldn't surprise me if those flashbacks ran most of the series, or at least for the first 5 years of it.

Eventually he'll get the name right.  I'm guessing from that final contemplative scene of him looking at that arrow in the season 2 opener that he'll initially go by the street name "The Tip".

<victim>  Are you going to hurt me too?

<The Tip>  No ma'am, I'm just The Tip.   I promise not to hurt you.
