It's here. and it actually looks like it might be good. keeping it a period piece was definitely the way to go. I'm glad that the trend of updating all our classics to modern day settings seems to be losing popularity.

Those are fun books but I wasn't fully feeling the whole adventure thing in that trailer. So hope they come out with a bit better trailer later. The women were also too clothed to be from Mars.

I saw the trailer with RotPotA, and it looks good to me, though I understand it's missing some of the pulpy fun.
It inspired me to get the series for my Kindle, but as with all public domain books, there are a load of collections available, and most are probably worthless. Can anyone direct me to a good John Carter or ERB collection?

I liked it but I know nothing of the source material so I am not tainted by that.

Bull, there are (i think) 11 titles in the Barsoom series. I just picked up the first 5 (which are considered the essentials) here. I read most of them when I was a kid, but I wouldn't mind checking them out again. It's one of my absolute favorite series. If they try to at least stay true to the spirit of adventure found in the books, I'll be happy.

if you looks down at 'Customers also considered' you might see some decent prices on the separate books.

I've bought a few halcyon collections (an H.P. Lovecraft collection and Robert E. Howard's Solomon Kane...who is far greater than all of his other characters combined) and they are rough...but I'm also getting a completely untouched/unedited edition just the way the author wrote it for a good price. I rarely use the TOC when reading an ebook, though. I'm a neanderthal.
