I think I actually bought a 45rpm record of ... it was either "Last Dance" or "MacArthur Park" in late 1978 or early 1979. "Hot Stuff" had some excellent, more rock-oriented guitar work.
Although my brother and I hated the Bee Gees and most of the disco era, we tended to love hearing Summers' work on the radio. A guilty pleasure of sorts.
I don't think she really knew what to do with her career after disco went away. She did lots more albums in different genres but never really re-found her '70s success.
btw, it's supposedly Donna Summer (no 's' at the end), fwiw.
