Never cared much for disco, but I liked her stuff. We had her greatest hits double vinyl when I was a kid and listened to it a lot.

I think I actually bought a 45rpm record of ... it was either "Last Dance" or "MacArthur Park" in late 1978 or early 1979. "Hot Stuff" had some excellent, more rock-oriented guitar work.

Although my brother and I hated the Bee Gees and most of the disco era, we tended to love hearing Summers' work on the radio. A guilty pleasure of sorts.  icon_smile I don't think she really knew what to do with her career after disco went away. She did lots more albums in different genres but never really re-found her '70s success.

btw, it's supposedly Donna Summer (no 's' at the end), fwiw.

Thanks. I just corrected the typo. She was very popular in Puerto Rico when I grew up there in the late 70s and 80s. My mother played her music constantly. Sad to hear of her passing.
