I have not been hearing good things about The Wolverine and the early reviews are pretty luke warm.
other movie this summer in place of "The Wolverine" and that about describes this entire
Most Wolverine reviews I've read appreciate what it was trying to do (put a comic book character in a very non-comic book movie), but seem to feel it ultimately wimps out on that in favor of "snik!" and "kabong!"
imho, if the studios ever realized how much most folks preferred the "Skinny Steve" part of Captain America over the later more typical action fare; or the stuff in Iron Man (2008) that didn't involve metal suits clanging on each other, you might eventually get a movie that has the cajonies not to veer back into the Expected Comic Book stuff. It really seems like we're reaching a saturation point. Also the point where $200M of FX work by 17 FX studios doesn't get much more than a yawn from an audience. Yes, even if IM3 made a zillion dollars.
Anyway, thanks for the votes, even if ya'll ain't giving me any ammo to veer my college pal over to something other than Pacific Rim.
