I think it's disgusting that education is the lowest thing on there.  Good education is the foundation for a country. The speed with which our education system is going down the tubes paintsa a pretty bleak picture for the future. Far larger threat to us than terrorism.

Come on... good education makes for an informed electorate... and we can't have that.

Yesterday the news was all about how wrong the exit polls were.  Today it's, "Let's examine the (same) exit polls to see why Bush won."  Color me confused...

Man, I was hoping to avoid posting in [P] threads!

heh You know... I waas thinking the same things... these are the same polls that showed the democrats ahead... oh well... I'm just a media whore anyway. frown

The more I think about the role of religion in politics the more I realize how much of a genius the first man to come up with religion for a justification was.  I mean... the cornerstone of logical thought is to have EVIDENCE to back your point, while the cornerstone of religion is to just BELIEVE what god tells you.

Those really are two diametrically opposed views, and for a politician the idea of being able to do what you want and tell your followers to simply believe you... and have them do it... wow... just... WOW.
