The over/under for the time in which I give up on the game and play ACB is halftime.

Nevermind I didn't think I'd give up because the 49ers were CRUSHING the Cardinals. Wow they are bad. In a year where I've watched a LOT of terrible QB play, Derek Anderson tonight may be taking the cake. It's amazing. This means I can still hope to have an opportunity to bet against Mike Singletary and Troy Smith IN THE PLAYOFFS. I might have to take money out of savings for that investment opportunity of a lifetime.

With your winnings, you should buy the team. Derek Anderson makes Alex Smith look like Joe Montana. Wow, he is BAD.

ouch. I missed the 1st qtr, and saw that he wasn't playing. Couldn't hear shit at Buffalo Wild Wings, so wasn't sure what happened to him.
That sucks.
Looks like they'll be airing it out more

I am still staring at it in awe, to be honest. It's really amazing. The best thing other than the Quinn/Hillis trade for the Browns was the cutting of DA. Even in his probowl season he wasn't that good and made too many bad reads and bad throws.

In his defense, I will never get why people criticize players if they happen to be smiling while they are losing. The guy is just supposed to sit there and mope? Maybe the guy he was talking to cracked a joke. These guys are human, I don't see why they can't display human emotions.

Ugh, and the defense lets everyone down again. They played well in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and then laid down in the 4th. Why this team doesn't have a new defensive coordinator is beyond me.

Why must the Saints constantly have close games against teams that aren't very good? For that matter, why does a team that is fairly unchanged except for an improved defense not look as good as last year? I know Bush and Thomas have been gone for much of the season, but I guess I feel that have enough weapons to make up for that. Brees isn't having a great year, so maybe that is much of it. At least they are scoring again. Hopefully the Bucs can beat the Falcons.

The last two teams who fired their coach played and lost to the Green Bay Packers on their last game. Will the Niners be the 3rd?

However since they didn't - yeah it's pretty much over. At first I was saddened by this because of the lost betting opportunity, but then I realized Pete Carroll/Matt Hasselbeck is just about as good a sure thing as Singletary/Smitheseseses, so I got happy again.

Singletary and young Jed remind me of that scene from Titanic where the string band was on the deck playing music while the ship was sinking and everyone was panicking around them.

McDaniels fired by the Broncos. After decimating the franchise with poor personnel decisions and running off star players this is long overdue. Sources close to the Broncos told NFL Network's Michael Lombardi that the team is expected to approach former Broncos Super Bowl hero John Elway for a front-office position and that if Gary Kubiak were available, he would be the team's first choice to coach the team next season.

WTF? I barely watch 49ers games (really only when the RZC flips to them) but even I can tell they're much better with Troy Smith.

They're really actually not. Both Smiths are terrible. Their stats are near identical. Troy DOES have two main assets over Alex though:
1) He's a better scrambler when coverage go to crap. 2) Instead of checking down when people are covered, Troy just heaves it the fuck down field to Vernon or Crabtree and prays.
Alex is more accurate and knows more of the playbook. The argument is that with Gore out, the OC wants to be able to use the full playbook and not the mini version, so Alex is in.
So Fantasy Football owners, Michael Westbrook is THE RB to start this week. The sheer amount of checkdowns that guy is going to see will be AWESOME.
Regardless, SF was fucked. This is just a different kind of fucked.

There is one faint sliver of hope. Alex saw that you CAN succeed by occasionally throwing the ball to a covered guy and hoping he makes the play. If he can actually execute on doing that, he has the possibility of being a decent QB. I am not hopeful of this, but I am saying there's a chance.
