It's a great thing, Summeral is servicable at best, Patrick is very good. ESPN's Sunday night crew is easily the best in the business. I even like Theismann. smile

Anyone know what the deal was? Why was he gone for 4 games?

Paul is my favorite sports caster EVER. God they are easily the best threeman booth in sportscasting in the present day. Yes I am serious, I can watch anygame when these three are calling it. Someone needs to get them in an NFL game.

It's great to hear his voice again on Sunday night.  Patrick is a real pro.

I really hate the ESPN crew.  All they do is kiss ass.  If it's a falcons game, you best turn off the volume.

Summerall needs to quit for good without making cameos.  He's just past his time.  I felt so bad for him on ESPN, he would say his thing, and the other two morons would continue on what they were saying before, totally ignoring summerall.

Theisman drives me nuts, every other sentence is, "When we talked to so and so player"  I just can't stand that crew.

Maguire is a total idiot.  The guy is SO negative about everything.  I'm so glad he isn't on my ESPN NFL 2k5 Xbox game.

I'm really surprised to see negative comments about this trio. If they are bad, who the hell is good?

Al Michaels is the only one who may outshine them, but he is teamed with Madden, who I respect but seems a tad out of touch and a little irritating.

I get a kick out of them except that every Sunday they (esp. Theisman) seem to gush over somebody as being the best, going completely over the top. If Joe was biologically able, I'm sure he'd be offering to have a new player's baby every week.

Madden is alright in small doses but a tad overrated.

BOOM! And it's like this guy's over here doing this thing, and that guy's over there doing that thing, and the defense can't seem to make heads or tails of it, and BOOM! the running game's on fire. BOOM!

BOOM!

I actually sort've like Summerall. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to what he had to say, but his voice took me back to the early 90s when the Cowboys were on almost every Sunday, and he and Madden were announcing the games. Anyways, the point being that the Cowboys suck now, were good back then, and his voice reminds me of the happy days.

I like Patrick and Summerall, but can't stand Theisman.  The guy has the single most annoying voice in the biz.

I am glad the ESPN trio is back. Summerall is just too meh for my taste. I also enjoy Madden and Michaels, Simms, and Aikman as commentators.

Al Michaels is by far, the best.  I don't mind Theismann too much but Maguire is an idiot.  What was the deal with defending Deon last night?  He was mauling Gardner on several plays.  Theismann was right about that and Maguire not only defends him but talks about how great he is.

He wears number 37 to show everyone how old he is.  That way they know that a 37 year old just ripped their arm out of their socket to defend the pass.  What a great play by Deon.  Do you know he's 37.  Man, that guy can play.  Did you see how he just tackled Laveranues to defend that pass?  Do you know he's 37?  They brought him in to play nickel.  At 37 years old, can that guy play or what?  You know he wears the number 37 to show..."  STFU

I like Dennis Miller, too.  He didn't know much about football but he was fun to listen to.
