Mike Myers has signed on for Austin Powers 4.  I wonder what they'll call this one....

i liked Austin Powers 3,but it wasn't as good as the first two, hopefully he wont put every star out there in the film like he did with the last one,it got a bit lame in the end

I am more wondering how they will go on with the Austin Powers being brothers with Dr Evil etc..combining forces to take out Scott?,nah

I do Hope Michael Caine can be in it again though.

name for this one?...pfft,i dunno, the first film didn't have a James Bond sex pun,so perhaps he will go back to a similar title

Lol.  That article referred to "new material."   icon_lol

I remember watching the first two on cable right before the third came out and holy crap, they use a lot of recycled material.  As in the same gags, only slightly different, in each film.  And I've no doubt that's what we'll in get in #4.   We can only hope he gets a better female co-star then Beyonce, though, who I thought didn't really match up well to the previous "Powers girls."

I felt that the first and third movies were by far the best, with the second losing steam. Both 1 and 3 have me in stitches every time, while the second only manages to make me chuckle.

Will be keeping an eye on this one.

While I tend to view a 4th Austin as simply desperation on Myers part now that Shrek's over, I did notice a funny mention in EW's Fall Movie Preview. The actor playing Moriarty (Mad Men's Jared Harris), remarked something to the effect that it just takes one mistakenly over-the-top line reading to "turn into Dr. Evil."  icon_razz

huh,i actually liked the second more i think, mainly because of Antonio Banderas' Puss in Boots that stole the show,(who is getting it's own spin off movie)

number 3 was very meh,and i have yet to see number 4(it's currently doing the rounds on Sky Movies,so i may watch it soon)

I enjoyed all the Shrek stuff, and as a cat owner, I expect to find the Puss in Boots spinoff movie a riot.  icon_smile I'm just saying the series is over, from what those involved said, so Myers needs another way to get a big paycheck.

As for Austin, I think I recall Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter in Captain America) saying she had done so many serious roles of late and would really like to do something like... an Austin Powers movie. I think she'd be perfect and if you've seen her on the red carpet and such, she's ... uh... more well equipped than her relatively dowdy military outfits in Captain America revealed.  Fabulous

The 3rd one was complete crap, while the fourth was pretty much back on par with 1 and 2.

I don't view the 4th as desperation, he said from the beginning he would love to do them until he dies regardless of profitability.

I thought Austin Powers 3 was the best of the bunch, hopefully they can keep it rolling.
