Michael Bay is ready to go on a covert mission with Ubisoft, signing on to develop “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon”  into a potential film franchise at Warner Bros., with an eye to direct.

Project marks the first time Bay has worked with Warner Bros., after previously producing and helming films primarily with Disney, Sony, DreamWorks and Paramount.

Quote
The film is the third high-profile adaptation of one of its games that Ubisoft has set up within the past year, with New Regency co-producing both “Assassin’s Creed” and “Splinter Cell.” Twentieth Century Fox has already set Memorial Day 2015 as the release date for “Assassin’s Creed,” which will star Michael Fassbender.

The only Michael Bay film I ever truly liked was "The Rock" (1996). I tend to remember that being more because of the cast -- even Bay couldn't screw up a movie with Sean Connery, Ed Harris, Nicholas Cage (before Ghost Rider et al seemed to make his career a joke), Michael Biehn, David Morse, etc. in it. Though I don't think it's an accident virtually none of that cast ever worked with Bay again.

So this actually doesn't scare me. If Ghost Recon's cast right and has a decent script, I'd actually like to see what Michael Bay might do with it.  icon_smile

I'm still waiting for Rainbow Six, which I feel would make a more interesting movie. Heck, it can even be another Jack Ryan movie, as I think he was in the original two games.

what, you think they write themselves?  amateur.  it takes a high degree of skill to script exactly how and when a bomb goes off.  this will be proven after Michael's magnum opus is finally made

Explosion:  The Motion Picture
Written by Michael Bay
Directed by Michael Bay
Produced by Michael Bay
Starring
Michael Bay as The reluctant good guy
Michael Bay as The generic eastern European terrorist
