EDIT: NVM looked it up and found these close ups and slashfilm are thinking the same thing

Thatís our first look at the new Rhino costume which is pretty bulky. And which Osborn is that as the Green Goblin, if that is even the Green Goblin?

When Sony releases the hi-res images of these posters, weíll be sure to update.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2, 2014, with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak and Sarah Gadon.

Quote
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy Ė between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation canít come quickly enough. Peter hasnít forgotten about the promise he made to Gwenís father to protect her by staying away Ė but thatís a promise he just canít keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The first official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is arriving on December 5th this week, so webheads should be very excited to get their first real look at the comic book reboot sequel.

Is it wrong to hate Jamie Foxx? I mean, DJango could have been played by a bunch of other people, and I think just as well.

So, I'm not saying I actually want him to get electrocuted or anything, but can we keep a seat beside bay on that rocket to the sun?

on the plus side, with this many villains they're getting close to having enough for a Sinister Six appearance.

Full trailer here

Got to say I am kind of meh.  It looks fine but it looks like they just followed the sequel playbook a bit too close - bigger everything.  More villains, more explosions, more destruction, etc.  It doesn't look inspired or like it takes any risks.

And what is up with Harry's hair?  Could they have made a more stereotypical "bad guy" look?

Or they could be building it up to The Sinister Six.. which could be cool if done right. Multiple villains tends to be a bad idea.. but the Sinister Six is after all an actual comic book staple of Spider-Man.

Trailer looks ok. I still don't like that robo-Rhino.  icon_razz

What I get from this trailer is that they fixed the two things that just weren't Spidey in the last one: The stupid-ass costume and the dark tone and look of it.

The costume is now spot on and there were some fantastic colorful bluesky moments in there.

Tossing too many villains into the mix is a lesson someone needs to learn eventually, but it could go one of two ways and still work: 1) There's one main villain, one cameo, and one tease for the next film (likely Electro, Rhino, Goblin) or B) They go whole hog like others are talking about here and go Sinister Six.

The latter could actually be a lot of fun.  The former would be okay.  However, I strongly suspect that it'll be like all the other films where some suit forced "more is better" down someone's throat.

they show him throwing down with all 3 villains at different times, so I think there won't be a tease for the 3 known ones.  Since they are already planning on a third film it would not surprise me to see this one end on a cliffhanger of some sorts.

agree on the suit, the suit now looks how i wanted it to look in the first film...classic Spidey

aren't they planning a 4th film as well?...so,i am hoping for not just a cliffhanger(actually not that bothered about that really),but a decent story arc over the next 3 films

The end credit scene at the end of the first film looks like it will be incorporated into this next film, but yeah, hoping the story goes all the way
Spoiler for Hiden:
his parents etc

I wasn't overly impressed with the first film,I liked it but thats about it,but i still have high hopes for its sequels

Here's a thought.. Could the shadowy figure on the end credits of the first film turn out to be Doctor Octopus... since we see his tentacles on this trailer.. and he's the leader of the Sinister Six?

I figured that would be the Green Goblin, but I guess not.  Of course, Michael Massee does kinda look like the guy in the Green Goblin outfit....

New International Trailer

Got to say it left me very unimpressed.  The attempts at humor with the chimny and Stacey saying "Peter!" just didn't feel funny and overall it just appeared a bit of a mess to me.  Perhaps it will be great but this trailer especially didn't excite me.

While I saw the rebooted film and liked it OK, I just had no desire to see it again (you regulars here know geek me will see certain comic book and sci-fi films 3 times in 3 nights if I'm crazy about it  icon_smile). What sort of bothers me is I thought the CGI would get better and better but to me most of the SFX sequence look even more CGI-ish than Raimi's films. And yeah I'm that old fart who really doesn't think the Sinister Six is a good idea. I think one great, memorable A-villain and maybe one lurking B-villain is a good thing (see Spider-Man 2, or Iron Man, or even Star Wars or The Empire Strikes Back).

I've never been a fan of "cram so many villains into the movie that the super hero becomes an afterthought in his own movie" mentality. And this just wreaks of it. OTOH, Sony's nuts about it and confident enough to slot it in prime time summer release territory (if they didn't, it'd be pushed into February 2015  icon_razz like a lot of "zero confidence" dreck plowing into theaters all this month). So, I'm no soothsayer and maybe I don't know squat. Just my rambling, beady eyed impressions.  icon_razz
