the Man of Bronze is going to be pulping up the big screen again.  hopefully they keep the setting in the 30's and 40's instead of bringing him to the present.   hopefully they also remember the George Pal disaster and take notes on what they did wrong.

Interesting. People will probably make him out to be a Indy Jones copycat though.

I remember reading an interview with the guys who were handling the property sometime late last year, and they stressed the need to keep it in the 40s.  Who knows what'll hapen with studio pressure, but, really, Doc Savage needs to be of that time.

Coincidentally, I just finished the new Rocketeer collection, where Peevy calls the benefactor out as Howard Hughes (and he was in the movie), but, given his henchmen, you know it's probably the Man of Bronze.  Even more bizarre, I just stumbled upon my copy of the first paperback over the weekend.   I'm going to have to revist.

Hey, I liked the George Pal version.   ninja

Anyway, a Doc Savage film franchise set in the '40's would make me one happy movie-goer.

If you read your originally posted article, it also linked Shane Black as director.  So there's some consistency.

Personally I have no idea who Doc Savage is, and I didn't even realize this thread existed before.

Think Indiana Jones if Indian Jones was also The Batman, Daredevil and Albert Einstein rolled into one.

wow, I didn't even think to check the article from years ago.  guess it got placed on the back burned while Black did some small indie film.

I love that pic. Ya know, Doc has had a chance or two. I want a Richard Benson (Avenger) movie.
