I have absolutely no idea how well known Steve Coogan's Alan Partridge is outside the U.K.

Anyway,background..

The fictional Alan Partridge started as a TV broadcaster on The Day Today, and then he got his own programme,Knowing me,Knowing You interviewing people and generally being offensive without knowing it and then I'm Alan Partridge where it shows how he is now just a Radio presenter, which is his best stuff(Alan Partridge and Steve Coogan that is)..he has appeared in other spin off one offs etc

now he is back in a feature film Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa here is the trailer

Never heard of him, but nice to see Colm Meaney getting work.

I'm a huge fan of Alan Partridge, but he's generally not very well known here.  Coogan himself is known a little bit, but mostly because he was the director in Tropic Thunder and the mini Roman in the Night at the Museum movies.  I think The Trip gained a little traction (but the movie version).  Saxondale is on Netflix, but I don't know anyone else personally who's seen it.  It's sad.

I have KMKY (aha) on DVD and have seen the first season of IAP.  Just hilarious awkward comedy.

Movie looks a little too big for what I expect from Alan (and he seems a little more cool than he should), but I'll still see it...two years after it's release when it gets slipped onto Netflix with no fanfare.

That one is on Netflix and has been in my queue forever.  I should get around to watching it.

I was bummed after getting into this thread that the second season (series) of IAP was never released in the US, but then I remembered that it was released in a Coogan collection.  I further remembered that I had purchased that collection last year!  Last night I rewatched three episodes from the first season of IAP.  Hooray!
