While its nice to see a danish movie garnering interest, this is an insane movie which mostly deals in violence.
Mads Mikkelsen is pretty cool as always (he's been in a few other major movies, Casino Royale for one), but other than that, I'd stay clear of this movie unless the subject matter (Vikings and extreme gory violence) has your interest.

Mads Mikkelsen is pretty cool as always (he's been in a few other major movies, Casino Royale for one), but other than that, I'd stay clear of this movie unless the subject matter (Vikings and extreme gory violence) has your interest.
Even if you are into vikings and extreme gory violence (which, imho, was not really that extreme other than one kill), you also need to be interested in looooong stretches of no dialogue and no music as well as a heavy dose of symbolic weirdness. Not for your average viewer and don't be sleepy when you start watching it. Started off well I thought but dragged on and lost its mojo. |

Despite my man crush on Mads Mikkelsen, I gave this a college try but couldn't sit through it. His other movies (After the Wedding, Prague and Citron & Flame) were pretty good though.

This has been available on Netflix Watch Instantly for quite a while. I've had it in my queue but hadn't gotten around to seeing it, and after reading that review and your responses I'm not sure I will bother.

Oddly enough, I just started watching this. I am getting close to the end- I generally grab 20 minutes at a time during lunch at work.
I kind of like it but the word "boring" just keeps coming up. I keep waiting for the "big thing" to happen. I think I am getting close, or I am just getting close to the end...:/
It's not bad, just super slow.

yeah, it's been on instant for quite some time. it LOOKS like it would be good as i love movies like that. since you say it's worth it, i'll give it a go this weekend. |

I saw this one a while back. Very weird move and yes fairly boring. However, the one thing it got right was it oozed atmosphere. If only there was a plot to go with.

Thats one seriously hard-core movie, and I REALLY like it. The two others gets worse with each iteration I'm afraid, with Pusher 3 being a gorefest for no particular reason I'm afraid. Yeah, I'm assuming its probably best if you can relate to the events. My grandfather was somewhat close to this, although he doesnt want to speak about it much. Its the most watched movie here in denmark, but then again, its a subject matter close to our hearts. The second one focuses purely on Mikkelsen's character. I highly recommend it. |
